Plants Vs. Zombies Heroes Adds Weekly Events And Holiday Content

The collectible card game starring PopCap's massive Plants vs. Zombies franchise has introduced weekly events. Plants vs. Zombies Heroes players can now take on weekly in-game events in both single- and multiplayer matches to unlock a new card each week.

As players win matches, they earn tickets, which can be redeemed for new cards. Winning in single-player earns you 10 tickets, while a multiplayer victory nets you 15. If you don't earn enough tickets to unlock that week's card, you can pay for the rest using the game's gem currency. This seems like a likely solution, as the current card for this week's challenge costs 2,000 tickets (or 500 gems). Players can use the featured Hero class of the week to boost the number of tickets earned.

To add to the content drop today, Plants vs. Zombies Heroes is getting in the mood for the holiday season with new Feastivus packs and an all-new card. The Jolly Holly card is an amphibious member of the smarty class with the effect of freezing zombies next door when played. The Jolly Holly is included in the Feastivus Bundle and the Feastivus Mega Bundle. The former includes a Valkyrie, a Winter Squash, and 15 additional cards, while the latter packs in four Feastivus Bundles plus a bonus Kernel Corn. Each Feastivus Bundle costs $4.99, while a Feastivus Mega Bundle is $19.99.

Modern Warfare Remastered now has all 16 maps from the original release, aside from the maps released in the Variety Map Pack, Call of Duty 4's multiplayer DLC from 2008. Hardpoint, the capture point objective mode, and Gun Game, the free-for-all mode where every kill earns you a new gun, are the two returning modes.

A holiday-themed version of the Crash map is in the update as well and will give players special weapon camos if they complete challenges on that map. Rocksmith 2014 Edition Remastered Now Supports Acoustic Guitars

Ubisoft has figured out how to get your acoustic guitar to work in their guitar-focused rhythm game. Rocksmith 2014 Edition Remastered received a free update today on PS4, Xbox One, and PC today adding acoustic guitar compatibility. Plugging in a microphone to your PC or console will let you play the game with your newly-compatible acoustic guitar.

Ubisoft notes that the only real difference for acoustic guitars is that Authentic Tones is disabled but players will still be able to change the difficulty and see if they are hitting the right notes. Acoustic guitar players are also encouraged to mess around with the microphone settings since different mics can pick up the audio differently.

Disconnected Mode is also in this update, which just shows the visual cues for the songs without the audio of your performance. For a more detailed list of the acoustic compatibility update, read the full rundown here.

Destiny's The Dawning Update Is Live, Bungie Releases Full Patch Notes

Bungie has previously announced various components coming to its December event, The Dawning, but the nitty-gritty of the smaller stuff has remained a mystery. With the update hitting today, the developer has released the full patch notes.

In addition to new quests, strike scoring, and the return of the Sparrow Racing League, this update brings changes to Xûr, the Eververse, and more. Xûr's inventory will once again include exotic shards to help you with upgrading your favorite weapons and armor, while the Eververse will introduce additional emotes and a new Treasures of the Dawning system. This system lets players earn new Sparrows, Ornaments, Horns, Armor, and Consumables. Players can earn one free treasure each time they complete their first weekly Heroic.

The Dawning also brings with it a new Silver Dust store that lets you get new exotic weapon ornaments. Presumably because of this new store, Xûr will be stopping his sales of exotic weapon ornaments.
