The first Final Fantasy title released in Japan on December 18, 1987. That means the franchise will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2017 – but what will that look like?

Publisher Square Enix isn't quite ready to divulge its plans, but in a recent interview with Famitsu, executive producer Shinji Hashimoto said the company will announce them soon.

Currently, we know that 2017 will see the release of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. Beyond that, we can only speculate. Will there be fan celebrations? Game collections? More remastered titles? Maybe even the first episode of the much-anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake? Only time will tell.

Limited Run Games, the company behind retail releases of indie games like Octodad and Shadow Complex, has a new batch going up for sale on its website this Friday. 

One is Firewatch on PS4, Campo Santo's first-person adventure driven by exploration and narrative. You can read our review here.

The other is Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD on Vita, the remastered version of Oddworld Inhabitants' quirky shooter.

Stardew Valley was a surprise hit when it released on PC earlier this year (read our review), and now PS4 and Xbox One players can get in on the excitement of chores and country living. Of course, life on the farm isn't easy, and some gamers have run into technical issues with the console versions.

According to a post on Stardew Valley's official site, the teams are aware of the problems and working on fixes. The list of issues includes "Game crashes when going to sleep around the 3rd day, if the system language is not english. (PS4)" and "Game crashes in certain cases if the Exit To Title button was used (Xbox One)." 

While you should certainly be aware of these issues, you can still enjoy the game on PS4 and Xbox One if you check out these temporary workarounds

Doom's Final Multiplayer DLC Is Out Now

While it's not as revered as the campaign for some, Doom's multiplayer is getting its last piece of paid DLC. Bloodfall, the third and final premium content pack, is out today on PS4, Xbox One, and PC for $14.99 and free for season pass owners. It contains three multiplayer maps, a grenade launcher, hack modules, lateral foot thrusters, new taunts, and the ability to play as a Spectre Pinky.

The release of DLC kicks off a double experience "weekend" for the multiplayer from now until December 19 at 11pm CT.

Lost Odyssey was one of the most-requested titles for Xbox One's backwards compatibility program. When the RPG finally joined the ranks of old games that worked on the new system, some fans were disappointed that there was no digital version; you needed the Xbox 360 discs. That's no longer the case, and that's not all: You can get the digital version of Lost Odyssey for free for the rest of the month.

The news comes from Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, who also notes that Blue Dragon is available digitally as well.

Torment: Tides of Numenera is the spiritual successor to the classic RPG Planescape: Torment, and gamers have been looking forward to it for a while. Ever since its phenomenally successful Kickstarter back in 2013, we've been eager to see the full, finished version of this title released. Well, now we know when that's happening: February 28.

Dishonored 2's New Game Plus Free Update Gets Release Date

What better reward for finishing Dishonored 2 than a New Game Plus mode and the ability to combine Corvo and Emily's considerable powers?

The game's free update – out December 19 for all platforms (and in beta now on PC), rewards players with access to both characters' full arsenal of abilities, the ability to combine them, and all the Bonecharm traits and Runes (which can be reassigned) previously collected. 

Bethesda has also announced that the title's second free update (in January) includes mission select and custom difficulty features.
