Blizzard To Nerf Overwatch's Roadhog

Overwatch principal designer Geoff Goodman has announced on the Overwatch forum that the developer is planning to limit the power of Roadhog's hook.

Goodman says the change makes it so that Roadhog's hook can't attach to targets he can't see, will break off if you leave his line of sight, and "feel more consistent as to where the victims get pulled."

The change will be in the Public Test Room (PTR) this week. From there, Goodman says Blizzard will see how the changes go over and proceed accordingly.

Nintendo Once Again Files Eternal Darkness Trademark

Nintendo Once Again Files Eternal Darkness Trademark

Nintendo of America has filed another trademark for Eternal Darkness with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

The trademark was filed on December 20, and covers both "video game software" and "downloadable electronic game software," so it's unclear if the company possibly intends to re-release the game on its Virtual Console platform. Also not mentioned was the specific home system the title could be coming to, although with Nintendo moving on to the Switch, it seems unlikely Wii U would be the target.

Silicon Knights' Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem released on the GameCube in 2002. Director Denis Dyack planned a spiritual successor via Precursor Games, but the project's Kickstarter failed and the game was put on hold.

Fans Visualize The Last Guardian's Full Map In One Large Annotated Image

The Last Guardian's continuous adventure does a good job lending a sense of scale to the large architecture of its world. It does not, however, offer a good full look at its playable area. That's where Reddit users CandykillerArt and LYRAA3 come in.

CandykillerArt pieced together The Last Guardian's tower to the best of their ability, and then LYRAA3 annotated the map to showcase exactly where key moments in the game occurred. Since that map offers some spoilers, you can find it here, behind the hyperlink. It's reminiscent of seeing the full stages of classic platformer levels laid out in large images like you would see in a strategy guide. It's interesting to see the game's full adventure in one image, giving you a better sense of exactly what Trico and the boy went through during the course of the game.

Fallout 4 Hacking Minigame Appears On CNN

Fallout 4 Hacking Minigame Appears On CNN

Mainstream media tends to focus on violence and sex in video gaming, but Fallout 4 made a recent appearance on CNN in a different context: As an image used to illustrate hacking.

The news outlet used a screen of the Fallout 4 hacking minigame to accompany a piece explaining the U.S. government sanctions against Russia. The image below was shared on Reddit, pointing out the similar formats between the lines of code displayed in Fallout 4 and those in the CNN piece.

Computer hacking is a complex topic that may be difficult for people to understand in detail, but maybe using a screen from a post-apocalyptic, alternate-future video game isn't the best (or most accurate) way to clear things up.

Starbound Developer Teases Turn-Based Strategy Game

After the success of the its space-faring title Starbound, Chucklefish Games has already begun working on its next project, which looks to take equal influence from Nintendo's Fire Emblem and Advance Wars series.

We first saw the project (which currently does not have an official name) back in August, when Chuckfish Games CEO Finn Bryce tweeted a screenshot of the game, saying, "Another project we're considering... Advance Wars meets Fire Emblem, with online multiplayer, on PC." A few weeks ago, Bryce tweeted a short video which showed the construction of a sample level.
