This Goro Statue Can Be Yours For Only $1,400

Pop Culture Shock Toys is offering a tremendously detailed 1:3 scale statue of one of Mortal Kombat's most fearsome fighters, Goro, Prince of the Shokan.

The figure stands at nearly three feet tall and is adorned with a cloth outfit, real hair, and a hand-sculpted base. It's nothing short of a work of art, an impressive recreation of one of MK's most popular characters.

Pre-orders for the limited run figure go live at 3:00 PM Pacific Time on February 27. There will only be 150 figures made in the entire run, so act fast if you need this in your collection. Being such a top--shelf collectible, it's only reasonable to expect this one to be a bit pricey: just one of these statues carries a price tag of $1,399.99.

343 Industries: All Halo Games Will Have Split Screen Moving Forward

Today during Bonnie Ross' D.I.C.E. speech on the stewardship of the Halo franchise, the 343 Industries general manager made an honest concession about the controversial decision to remove split-screen in Halo 5.

"When we didn't put split screen in Halo 5, it was incredibly painful for the community and for us," she said. "I think it erodes trust with the community, as the community is a part of our world building."

Originally, Xbox head Phil Spencer said the decision to remove split screen was done because a "vast majority" of players were playing cooperatively over Xbox Live, not locally. That didn't stop the community from widely decrying the decision.

Assassin's Creed Rogue, The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match Now Backward Compatible On Xbox One

Today, Microsoft extended its Xbox One backward compatibility program with a few more popular games.

Assassin's Creed Rogue and The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match are now backward compatible on Xbox One. This means that if you own any of these games on Xbox 360, you can now play them on your Xbox One for no additional charge. Assassin's Creed Rogue is especially noteworthy as it launched at the same time as Unity, but never made the jump to our current console generation. Now fans can play it without digging out their dusty Xbox 360.

If you own them on disc, simply insert your disc into your Xbox One's disc tray to begin installation. If you own the games digitally, they should appear in the "Ready to Install" tab on your Xbox One automatically.

Nintendo Virtual Console Games Not Available At Switch Launch

Nintendo has announced a few details about the eShop in relation to the launch of the Switch on March 3.

The company says that Virtual Console titles won't be available at the system's launch and that more info on them is coming "in the future."

At launch, however, players will be able to access funds in Nintendo accounts on other devices. This is done by linking their Nintendo Network ID and Nintendo account, and then that account to the Switch. Recently there was a report that already purchased games could be re-downloaded to the Switch, but Nintendo hasn't specified this yet.

Reader Discussion: What's The Best Reason To Buy A New Console On Launch Day?

Console launches are exciting, but they are also risky. The first batch of a new technology is rarely the best batch, the games are usually underwhelming, and it's expensive, but many are still eager to adopt on day one. Why do we do that?

I am excited for Switch because I want to play a new Zelda on a new console and I also have the luxury of yelling, "It's for work!" at the people questioning my financial irresponsibility. I can't deny, though, that one of the main reasons, possibly the main reason I am getting a Switch on day one, is because it's exciting to be part of the early adopter crowd. I don't want to be left out. It's not a good reason, but it's the true one.

What about your reasons? What is your reason for getting a console on day one? Alternatively, what is your reason for waiting?

TowerFall Dev's 'Hardcore' New Platformer Celeste Is Coming To Switch

TowerFall Dev's 'Hardcore' New Platformer Celeste Is Coming To Switch

Prospective Nintendo Switch owners can add one more indie game to their radar, and it looks mighty impressive.

Matt Thorson's multiplayer-focused action game TowerFall drew major accolades from gamers a few years back, thanks to its tight controls and retro flair. His newest project retains the same visual art style, but trades mayhem-filled multiplayer arenas for brutally challenging platforming sequences.

Celeste started as a four-day experiment for PICO-8, a minimalist, "fantasy console" that programmers can create and share virtual carts for. That prototype is still available to play for free, but Thorson and his partner Noel Berry were planning to translate Celeste into a larger project. Today Thorson revealed in a tweet and the following announcement video that Celeste will be coming to Nintendo's upcoming console, with a significantly larger scope.
