Genji From Overwatch Coming To Heroes Of The Storm

Overwatch's Genji has been added to the Heroes of the Storm 2.0 beta, and along with him comes his boyhood home of Hanamura as a payload battleground and a new heroic ability – X-Strike.

Genji's Swift Strike, Shuriken, Dragonblade, and Deflect abilities come with him, as does a new heroic ability called X-Strike. This is a slash attack that detonates in an area for additional damage.

The Hanamura payload battleground (two lanes) features a payload that must be pushed across the map in order to release dragons to damage the enemy's core.

Captain Phasma Comic Reveals How She Survived Starkiller Base

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is believed to pick up right where The Force Awakens left off, with Rey extending a lightsaber to Luke Skywalker. One story beat that we likely won't learn in the film is how Captain Phasma escaped Starkiller Base. As you may remember, she was apparently thrown into a trash compactor by Finn and Han Solo.

While this comic probably concludes with a sequence of her rocketing away in a ship with Starkiller base exploding behind it, we should learn more about who Captain Phasma is over the four-issue arc. Star Wars: Captain Phasma is a part of Lucasfilm's build up to December's release of The Last Jedi, and is penned by writer Kelly Thompson with art by Marco Checchetto. The first issue hits comic shops and digital stores in September.

Take Another Look At Disney's Upcoming Star Wars Land

Take Another Look At Disney's Upcoming Star Wars Land

Disney Parks and Lucasfilm are teaming up to transport guests to a new world. In a panel at Star Wars Celebration, we learned this planet isn't Tatooine or Takodana; it's a new place that hasn't been seen in any Star Wars story yet. This planet rests on the edge of wild space, and is said to be old and a hub that was thriving before faster-than-light travel was invented.

The new planet is patrolled by First Order and Resistance troops, so it must fit somewhere into the new era of movies. It also has a robust criminal underground network that guests will be subject to. Guests can also help out the different factions in ways that have yet to be explained, but your efforts will change things, and build a reputation for you in the park.

One of the attractions is piloting the Millennium Falcon, an act that again produces results that could affect something in the park or alter your experience.

Star Wars: Battlefront II's Story Begins As A Book This July

Christie Golden's upcoming Inferno Squad book was announced as a follow-up to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but it turns out it's much more than that. During Star Wars Celebration, Electronic Arts revealed the full title of Golden's book, Star Wars Battlefront II: Inferno Squad. The novel tells how Inferno Squad became one of the Empire's most prized weapons.

Iden Versio and her team are tasked to eliminate Saw Gerrera's Partisans, and apparently do enough to rise in the Imperial ranks. Star Wars: Battlefront II: Inferno Squad releases on July 25.

For more of Versio's future exploits in Star Wars: Battlefront II, check out our extensive preview that walks through the game's story and details what Inferno Squad is.

Documentary Dives Deep Into The Creation, Intricacies Of Spelunky

Spelunky is a fascinating, deep game. Though I've played little of it, I appreciate from afar; I've heard several game designers espouse love for its brilliant mix of simple approaches to complex situations, and over the years I think the conversation on it has subsided, but never really gone away.

A new hour-long documentary from Noclip is as extensive a look at the game as we're likely to get. the film talks to the game's core designers, chronicles its history, and talks about its various layers and interactions in painstaking detail. It's long enough that you can even enjoy a few games of Spelunky as you listen to it in the background. You can find the documentary below.

Battlefront II's Offline Co-op Is Console-Exclusive

Battlefront II's Offline Co-op Is Console-Exclusive

One of the features announced for Star Wars Battlefront II during its official unveiling today was offline, split-screen co-op. However, recent official details have obfuscated which platforms will receive the feature and which won't. Let's clear that up a bit.

A blog entry on the Xbox Wire previously said the feature will be exclusive to Microsoft's console. This is not the case. Game Informer was able to confirm with an EA representative that the split-screen will be available on both consoles (the Xbox Wire post was also updated to say the feature is console-exclusive). However, the feature will not be available on the PC.

Our TakeIt's unfortunate the PC version won't have split-screen. Offline co-op is a great way to get casual fans to play with more hardcore players, and to it see disappear from any platform is a bummer. But I suppose it's not unheard of. EA should have instead taken cues from another Star Wars-related title, Soul Calibur IV, and given Xbox One Players Yoda, PlayStation 4 players Darth Vader Kylo Ren, and the PC version, um... a TIE Fighter running a GTX 1080Ti video card or something.
