Tom Brady Is The Madden NFL 18 Cover Star

Tom Brady Is The Madden NFL 18 Cover Star

The many accomplishments of New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady (including winning the Super Bowl a record five times) makes him the best at his position to ever play the game. And now he can add one more accolade to that list – Madden NFL cover star.

Amidst the celebration, however, is the black cloud of the Madden Cover Curse, which states that whomever appears on the cover will suffer a major injury, sub-par season, or worse (!) that season and possibly even beyond. To assess the possible legitimacy of the curse, Brady need look no further than teammate and Madden 17 cover athlete Rob Gronkowski, who was in and out of the lineup last season with various injuries before being placed on injured reserve after week 12.

Brady, however, isn't phased by the possibility of a curse. "The Madden NFL 18 cover is a great honor for me," he said in a press release, "especially since I have been playing the game since growing up next to EA headquarters in the Bay Area. I'm not one to believe in curses, so I'm ready to take the challenge head on like always! It doesn't stand a chance!"

Reader Discussion – What Video Game Do You Want To See Made Into A Film?

Reader Discussion – What Video Game Do You Want To See Made Into A Film?

Earlier today, Straight Up Films revealed that a Thief movie was in the works (as well as a new game). There have been a number of video game movies at this point, but few (if any) of them have been good. That doesn't mean that video game film adaptations can't be done well. What video game franchise would you like to see get the film treatment?

Maybe you're one of the many Halo fans still disappointed with the fact that that series has failed to make it to the silver screen. Or maybe you'd like to see Metal Gear Solid as a motion picture. Or maybe you're a Naughty Dog fan with high hopes for the Uncharted and Last of use films.

But here's another idea. What if we stopped trying to turn an interactive medium into a passive one? What's your preference? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Ubisoft Outlines Rainbow Six Siege Improvements Coming In Next Three Months

Ubisoft is looking for longevity with Rainbow Six Siege. While it says the community is thriving, it's also thinking about the long term and wants the game's overall health in better shape. On the Ubisoft blog, it announced "Operation Health" as an initiative to improve the game over the next few months. This will include a host of refinements and changes, focusing on three pillars: technological improvements, a new deployment process, and bug fixes. This includes everything from faster servers to gradual deployment across platforms for better quality control. The image above details the exact targets.

"While we have been working diligently on improving the health of the game, we were not satisfied with the pace at which we were able to deliver major improvements and fixes. So we are dedicating an entire season to both eliminating the highest priority issues and restructuring for a more sustainable update pipeline," the blog post says.

To do all this, the team must push back the planned Hong Kong season to season three in August. Season four features South Korea, and Poland will no longer have its own season in year two, but its GROM Operators will be available at the start of seasons three and four.
