Today Ubisoft announced Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2, although details are scarce at the time of this writing.

An official forum announcement for Far Cry 5 was posted by a community developer, and a community manager put up the Crew 2 logo over at its official forum.

Hopefully we'll have some more info later today during Ubisoft's financial call.

Harvest Moon: Light Of Hope Announced For Switch, PS4 & PC

Natsume has big things planned for the 20th anniversary of Harvest Moon – including a new title called Light of Hope.

Harvest Moon: Light of Hope doesn't have a concrete release date yet, but it is announced for the Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Steam),  and the game tasks players with rebuilding a town and saving a lighthouse after their ship crash lands in a harbor town after a monsoon. The game naturally also features livestock, crops, friends, and family, and Natsume president Hiro Maekawa says that this title will have "clear-cut goals."

Apart from a new Harvest Moon title, Natsume is also committing to re-releasing Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition and Save the Homeland for the PS4, as well as Harvest Moon 64 for the Wii U. No dates have been announced for these re-releases. Also coming is a Harvest Moon Lil' Farmers app.

Watch A Retro Retelling Of Tekken's Story

Fighting games have a bad reputation when it comes to stories. However, as much as some players try to dismiss them, the narratives in this genre can get surprisingly complicated – especially in long-running series like Tekken.

In advance of the upcoming Tekken 7, Bandai Namco and 8-Bit Cinema have created a video recap (or the first part of one, at least) that runs through the important moments in the early games. Plus, it uses adorable old-school sprites. See if for yourself below:

ZeniMax Takes Legal Action Against Samsung In Continuing VR Battle

Earlier this year, a legal battle between ZeniMax and Oculus concluded with the former being awarded $500 million. While the case was complicated, the victory ultimately hinged on Oculus employees' violation of a non-disclosure agreement relating to ZeniMax's VR technology. Now, a connected legal confrontation is brewing between ZeniMax and Samsung, the makers of Gear VR.

Public court documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division on May 12, 2017 show that ZeniMax is taking civil action against Samsung. Samsung's Gear VR was developed in collaboration with Oculus, and last year the court subpoenaed information from Samsung regarding source code and technology provided by Oculus during its creation.

In the document, ZeniMax claims that "Samsung has used, and continues to utilize, ZeniMax’s VR technology (or derivatives thereof) that was misappropriated by Oculus (now owned by Facebook) in its Samsung Gear VR which continues to be 'powered by Oculus.'"

Sega Plans To Revive Old Franchises

The gaming industry has changed a lot since Sega was a household name, but the company may be tapping into its glory days by bringing back series that earned it acclaim over the years.

On page 22 of Sega's latest business report for the end of the fiscal year, the company references "revival of past IPs" as part of its strategy through the year 2020.  This could include any number of franchises from the company's history, including beloved names like Phantasy Star and Shining Force.

Another potential revival is Obsidian's cult hit Alpha Protocol, a modern-day espionage RPG (pictured above). While it is far from confirmed, the developer at least publicly acknowledged the possibility on Twitter:
