Star Wars: Battlefront II Gets Lengthy Multiplayer Presentation

Electronic Arts showed off a big chunk of Star Wars: Battlefront II footage today as the finale to their E3 briefing, revealing some of what players can expect when the game releases later this year.

Prior to the demo getting started, EA took time to discuss the new features of Battlefront II. A new class system lets you improve your character and select new abilities as you level up. Weapons have been redesigned to feel less floaty. A point system in-game is built to give you dramatic customization options.

The initial trailer shows off what players can expect out of multiplayer gameplay. The initial reveal shows off a section of the Battle for Naboo from Episode I. Amid clone troopers and Droids, Darth Maul takes the field to do battle. From there, the demo jumps ahead to show sequences across the different Star Wars time periods, including everything form the Millennium Falcon to Yoda drawing out his lightsaber.

EA Shows Off Action-Packed Need For Speed: Payback Scene

In Need for Speed: Payback, EA is shifting the focus to be more action focused. Players control three characters in the story: Tyler, Jess, and Matt. With these characters, you take part in car battles and action moments, as well as racing and heists. Developer Ghost Games showed a sequence of the title during today's EA Play press conference.

In the gameplay sequence, the characters take down several enforcer cars on the way to a truck that's carrying a supercar they want to steal. As each enforcer car is taken down, the action switches to a slow-motion crash cam, similar to what was previously seen in the Burnout series. The characters pull up alongside the truck, Jess jumps and escapes with the car.

EA Reveals A Way Out, A Co-Op Game From The Makers Of Brothers

A Way Out is an upcoming co-op adventure game from the makers of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, which EA revealed today during its press conference. Featuring exclusively split-screen co-op, you and a friend play as two prison inmates named Leo and Vincent.

Josef Fares, who is best known for 2013's indie puzzle game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, is acting as both writer and director for A Way Out at his new studio Hazelight. Described as an "emotional adventure," players will nonetheless see several action sequences as they undergo car chases, fights, shootouts, and more.

“This game is going to bring a co-op experience unlike anything you have ever seen before,” Fares said during the conference. “The idea for A Way Out came when me and a friend tried to find a story driven co-op game that wasn’t a drop-in/drop-out experience."
