Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Gets Standalone Release

As was reported earlier this week, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is receiving a standalone release. Activision today made it official that the classic FPS will finally be available to buy on its own beginning on PlayStation 4 next week, with other platforms to follow at a later date.

The title was previously only available for those who bought special editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which was released last year. The game features the full campaign and 16 multiplayer maps. The package does not include the Modern Warfare Remastered Variety Map Pack, which features the Killhouse, Broadcast, Creek, and Chinatown maps.

Tuesday's release kicks off Call of Duty's "Days of Summer" promotion, a five-week community event that features maps, double XP, new playlists, gear, and more. The "Days of Summer" event also includes a summer-themed map available for play in Modern Warfare Remastered for the duration of the event. Activision teases that we'll learn more on Tuesday when the PS4 version of Modern Warfare Remastered launches.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 Prototype Demo Focuses On Scale

Yesterday, Michel Ancel teased that a video of the Beyond Good & Evil 2 prototype would be available the next day. That would be today – and you'll never guess what popped up online! Check out the video for an early look at the game, which focuses on its impressive scale.

The video runs through the same demo we saw at E3 last week, but it's worth checking out. It stars the same monkey from the reveal trailer, though he's mercifully silent. Rather than focusing on the character's personality and the seedy world in which he lives, the demo highlights just how big the environments are. It starts with a look at the character's mothership, which houses a smaller individual ship. From there, we see a massive statue, and zoom out to get a better sense of just how massive it really is. Ancel pulls the camera back even further, showing off a nearby city, the continent it's on, and eventually the planet where everything we've seen takes place.

Hearthstone Update Aims To Keep Legendary Cards Fresh

Duplicate cards are one of life's annoyances, at least for Hearthstone players. Blizzard has heard from fans and is incorporating some changes to the way cards are distributed, which will be a boon for those who are looking to add more legendaries to their decks.

Once the update goes live, any legendary card you own or gain from a new pack will be removed from the distribution pool until you have all the legendary cards from that set. You'll also be guaranteed to get a legendary card within the first 10 packs of a new set, starting with the next expansion.
