New Costumes And Stages Coming To Street Fighter V This Month

As of July 25, Street Fighter V is receiving an update that adds new costumes and stages. According to a recent blog post from Capcom, several of these are inspired by older Street Fighter titles.

One of the new stages is Ryu's home level Suzaku Castle, which first appeared in Street Fighter II. Alex, Juri, and Ibuki are also receiving new costumes. Alex and Ibuki's new looks are reminiscent of Street Fighter III, and Juri's outfit is from Street Fighter IV. These costumes are priced at $3.99 each. Capcom has not revealed a price for the Suzaku Castle stage as of yet.

Another stage, Kanzuki Family Stadium, was also announced, which takes inspiration from the upcoming Capcom Pro Tour. Ryu and Ken are also getting new sets of costumes that are similarly themed. The Capcom Pro Tour costumes will cost $5.99 each, and the Kanzuki Family Stadium stage can be bought for $9.99.

Nomura Shares More Details On Kingdom Hearts III And Its Toy Story World

Today, Tetsuya Nomura took the stage at D23 and wowed fans with a new world reveal for Toy Story. This marks the first Pixar property ever in a Kingdom Hearts game, and Pixar and Square Enix worked together to create a completely original storyline for it. During my interview with director Tetsuya Nomura today, I asked him for some more details on the world and what he hopes to achieve with it.

Nomura took interest in Toy Story for the strong mark is made on the CG world, calling the movie “iconic.” Ever since Kingdom Hearts II, he longed for it to make an appearance in the series. “Just looking at the trailer, I feel Sora really fit in and matched well with that world, and it’s something I always personally wanted to see – that image of Buzz and Woody coming face to face with Sora in his toy form. I had been imaging that in my head, and to be able to execute that into the game is something I’m really excited for and I’m hoping fans feel the same way I do.”

Gummi Ship Confirmed For Kingdom Hearts III

At the end of Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage, we were treated to a cutscene that leads into Kingdom Hearts III, showing Sora alongside his companions Donald and Goofy aboard the Gummi Ship. The Gummi Ship has been your main method of communication between worlds throughout the series but hasn’t been in every entry, so I was curious about its role in Kingdom Hearts III. Today, after the latest big trailer, I chatted with director Tetsuya Nomura and asked him about its inclusion.

“In terms of the Gummi Ship making its return, I can confirm on that, but how it is or what has become of it, we’re not able to reveal it at this point,” Nomura said. “We ask you to stay tuned for more information.”

In previous entries, you could customize the ship and use it to destroy obstacles to reach worlds. In my interview, Nomura also spoke about how the Kingdom Hearts team tries really hard to pay attention to what’s well received by fans. “The staff members on our development team always want to try something new, so even with previously introduced mechanics, they always try to make it their own or tweak it. Even if it is small or minor, we customize it so that it’s for Kingdom Hearts III.”
