BioWare's Aaryn Flynn Leaves Company, Casey Hudson Returns

BioWare is seeing some changes in its leadership today, as longtime general manager Aaryn Flynn is stepping down. However, another familiar face is assuming the leadership role: Casey Hudson, who is returning to lead the company.

As Flynn points out in his farewell post, he has been with BioWare for 17 years, and he has run the studio since the departure of co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk in 2012.

Hudson is best known for his leadership on the Mass Effect franchise, but he left BioWare in 2014 after laying the groundwork for a new IP (which we now know is Anthem). However, Hudson now refers to his return to the company as "coming home."

Get A Peek At How CG Film Resident Evil: Vendetta Draws Inspiration From The Early Games

Resident Evil: Vendetta is the latest CG film to tackle the classic survival horror video game franchise. The film follows the story of series mainstays Chris Redfield, Rebecca Chambers, and Leon S. Kennedy as they fight through hordes of zombies and work to take down revenge-driven maniac Glenn Arias.

In this short clip from the DVD/Blu-ray extras, you can hear Capcom's executive supervisor and former producer of the video game series Hiroyuki Kobayashi discuss the inspiration the film draws from the original games. You can see that clip below.

Breath Of The Wild Player Obtains Glitched Sword That One-Shots Everything

In The Legend of Zelda series, the Master Sword is a powerful weapon wielded by a legendary hero. However, that ancient blade pales in comparison to a new sword one player received thanks to an unexpected glitch.

In this Reddit thread, user Eastonator12 shows how a crash resulted in a peculiar weapon – a Lynel sword with an attack value high enough to defeat any enemy in the game (including the last one) in a single hit.

If you want to see the sword one-shot the final boss (and don't mind SPOILERS), you can do that here.

This Cute Animated Short Is Technically More Dragon Age

Dragon Age Inquisition came out in November of 2014 (read our review), and it received its final DLC nearly a year later. That makes it almost two years since we've seen any new Dragon Age game content – and that isn't changing today. However, the studio has posted an entertaining animated short set in the world of Thedas that fans will appreciate.

Entitled "The Tale of Corsa the Jackal," the story is presented as a bedtime story for children, and you can watch it below.

Evolution 2017 Street Fighter V Recap

Last night's Top 8 for Street Fighter V at Evo 2017 was something to behold. The biggest game of the multi-fighting game tournament, Street Fighter always caps off the Evolution Championship Series, and last night did not disappoint.

After two days of pools, the tournament was down to eight players on Sunday night: five from Japan, and three from the U.S. In what is usually a fairly diverse playerbase in terms of country of origin, this year saw the East battle the West. Given the unusually high number of American players in Top 8, the United States was in a better position than ever to take its first Street Fighter win at Evo in the modern era (which began in 2009 with Street Fighter IV). Here's what the Top 8 Bracket looked like:

Rating Reveals Possible Sequel To Telltale's Batman

Rating Reveals Possible Sequel To Telltale's Batman

After Telltale's popular first season starring the Caped Crusader, the company is probably planning to give players more adventures with Batman. A rating on New Zealand's Film & Video Labelling Body may have just revealed the title for Telltale's likely follow-up.

The listing refers to the season pass for a product called "Batman: The Enemy Within." This naming convention is consistent with Telltale's approach to the latest season of The Walking Dead, which was called "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier."

For now, the name is the only hint we have, but if a sequel is really on the way, then we'll undoubtedly have more information before too long.

The Look Of The Ataribox Revealed

At E3 this year Atari said it was "back in the hardware business," and today in a newsletter to its fans the company revealed the look of the Ataribox – a PC-based system that plays old and "current" games.

There is no price point, release date, or other hard details at the moment, but the system comes in regular and retro configurations. Both have an HDMI port, four USB ports, and SD card support.

Atari is funding the console via crowdfunding. It says it is bringing the system along slowly, "[listening] closely to the Atari community feedback as we do so."
