Details On Night Trap Release Come Out

Publisher Screaming Villains has crept out of the shadows to announce that its re-release of infamous FMV game Night Trap will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Steam this August. Releasing 25 years after the Sega CD original, physical versions will be available on PS4 as of August 11th, with the digital version coming to both PS4 and Steam on August 15th.

For those who can't get enough of the kitsch horror game that launched a congressional hearing, multiple physical options are available. A Collector's Edition, limited to 3,000 copies, features the game, a reversible Sega CD-style cover art and box, a poster, a cassette tape featuring the Night Trap theme song, and an embroidered patch. The standard edition, limited to 5,000 copies, does not boast the cassette tape, patch, or Sega CD-style box. Both versions are being brought to you by Limited Run Games.

Night Trap was originally released in 1992 before it was pulled off shelves due to the fervor surrounding it. Players took the role of an investigator who, with the aid of cameras strategically placed around a house, watched over a group of teenage girls to protect them from vampires, as you do. Its racy and violent content placed it center stage in the 1990s discourse about video games, and subsequent congressional hearing into the same subject.

Destiny 2 PC Beta Takes Place End Of August

Bungie has announced the hotly anticipated dates for the PC beta of Destiny 2, taking place on August 28th for Early Access members and August 29th for everyone else. The beta ends on the 31st for everyone, so players who preordered get one more day to play.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the beta took place from July 19th for preorders to the end of the day on July 25th. Bungie has not yet given statistics for how well its testing on consoles went, but the original Destiny beta in 2014 boasted 4.6 million players, breaking records for beta users for a new IP on consoles.

Additionally, Bungie has outlined the minimum and recommended specs for Destiny 2's PC beta, though they're quick to clarify that does not necessarily apply to full game. Check out Bungie's update to see if your PC can handle the Destiny 2 beta.

First Look At Snoke In Behind The Scenes Shots Of The Last Jedi

First Look At Snoke In Behind The Scenes Shots Of The Last Jedi

In 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the mysterious Snoke barked orders at his assembled group of Sith via a hologram. Aside from looking immensely tall, audiences didn't get much information on who Snoke is or what he really looks like, questions that we presumed would be answered in 2017's The Last Jedi. Thankfully, we don't have to wait for the movie's release in December to see Snoke in the flesh, as leaked behind the scenes photos show off the Sith lord for the first time.

The image shows Snoke is in line with villains like Emperor Palpatine in terms of withered and damaged looks. If the Star Wars series has taught us anything, though, it's that the beleaguered appearing villains often hide incredible power behind their appearances.

The leaked image album also shows Luke Skywalker doing his best Assassin's Creed impersonation, a scarred Kylo Ren, a battle-ready Rey, and more.

Overwatch's Newest Offense Hero, Doomfist, Is Now Live On PS4, Xbox One, And PC

Earlier this month, Doomfist, a new offense hero that's a force to be reckoned with, punched his way onto the PTR (public test region). Now he's finally live to experience on all platforms for Quickplay and Arcade.

Doomfist is a powerful frontline fighter, who can deal ranged damage with his hand cannon or slam the ground to knock enemies into the air and off balance. He also can get up close and personal, uppercutting them into the air. His Meteor Strike can also turn the tide of a match by allowing him to jump out of view and then slam into a large area (hopefully hitting a large number of opponents in the process). He's not all brawn, though; Doomfist can also generate temporary shields when he deals ability damage.

To see more of his power in action, you can check out Blizzard's "Sizzle Reel" below.

For Honor Gets Dedicated Servers And More In Content Roadmap

Ubisoft revealed plans today for seasons three and four of For Honor, its weapon-based fighting game that launched earlier this year.

To improve stability and connection, For Honor is moving from its heavily connection-dependent peer-to-peer system to dedicated servers. Ideally, this should allow online players to fight on even ground when it comes to timing their strikes and parries, which is the fundamental basis for the fighting system.

Ubisoft is also promising a new tutorial for the game, more new heroes, and new game modes (such as an eight-player 4v4 mode) coming in the next two competitive seasons.

Actor's Resume Lists Grand Theft Auto 6 As Project

It's probably safe to assume that at any given time, there's a team hard at work on a new game from Rockstar Games' premier franchise, Grand Theft Auto. Today, we have potential evidence that is the case by way of an actor's resume, which lists for motion capture on Grand Theft Auto 6.

As a user on NeoGAF discovered, actor Tim Neff lists Grand Theft Auto 6 and Red Dead Redemption 2 under the motion capture portion of his resume (you can see the screen grab below). While hearing that work is being completed on Grand Theft Auto 6 isn't a surprise, it's still cool to know that the project could already be in the works. Neff's Instagram also presented a photo from Rockstar San Diego, which has now been deleted, to further confirm he's been spending time at the studio on upcoming Rockstar projects.
