Despite being an all-around great shooter, Titanfall didn't live up to its sales expectations. It released in a particularly competitive holiday season against games like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Battlefield 1, and more, and wasn't able to make the splash EA and developer Respawn wanted it to. But fans who may be weary about the series' prospects may not have much to worry about.
In an interview with GameSpot, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella stated that despite not selling as well as it could have, the series is far from done. Titanfall 2 has received a number of free content updates (the latest of which is four-player co-op mode) but the company is already thinking forward. "It's important to keep the franchise going. 'We're doing more Titanfall," Zampella said. "There's some other things we're doing that haven't been announced just yet, but we're heavily invested in the Titanfall universe."
What those projects are is up in the air, but the company announced in March that it's working with South Korean company Nexon on a free-to-play version of Titanfall and with mobile developers to make games on the platform.

Naughty Dog has not been particularly forthcoming with information on The Last of Us: Part II, the hotly anticipated sequel to 2013's action survival game, after its announcement in December 2016. Some internet sleuths on The Last of Us subreddit, however, might have figured out enough details from the game's concept art to figure out it takes place in Seattle, Washington.
A very convincing post by user Voldsby on the aforementioned subreddit lays out the argument with pictures of Seattle's various signs and landmarks and finds matching imagery in the art released for the game. The comparisons get so granular that at one point, Voldbsy points out that the vegetation in the concept art is indigenous to western North America, specifically Washington.
Check out Voldby's full post here.

Daniel Licht has passed away at 60, Variety reports.
Licht was perhaps best known as the composer of TV drama Dexter, which made him an easy pick as the successor of Akira Yamaoka when he left the Silent Hill series. Most recently, Licht composed the eerie, somber soundtrack for both Dishonored games.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Licht's loved ones.

Destiny 2 is heading to PC over a month after it debuts on consoles, which means PC shooter fans will have to be patient. They'll also have to be careful about how they stream the game, according to a post on Bungie's website.
According to Bungie, popular streaming software such as OBS and XSplit will only work in certain configurations, while hardware-based solutions have more leeway. If you want to stream using OBS or XSplit, you'll have to keep the game in Windowed or Borderless Fullscreen mode, and use the "Screen Capture" or "Window Capture" method, rather than the traditional "Game Capture" option. Using an Elgato, AVerMedia device (or an Nvidia graphics card's native Shadowplay function), you can stream without having to sacrifice CPU horsepower in windowed mode.
Additionally, those looking to use third-party overlays (such as those found chat apps like Discord or Mumble) won't work, though you can still receive notifications from those apps. Framerate counters found in third-party apps aren't compatible, either.

During Siggraph 2017, an annual conference that shows off the coolest new tech in computer graphics, Kojima Productions' Kohei Ishiyama and Guerilla Games' Giliam de Carpentier gave a talk about all the new things their shared engine, Decima, could do. Among these things is really cool fog.
(Please visit the site to view this media)
Most fog in games is made in such a way that does not allow it to be dynamic, so developers have a difficult time changing it up as suits the scene. With Death Stranding, Ishiyama says, they are able to play with the fog in a dynamic way.

Compete, a site focusing on esports, reports on the curious case of a tournament called BEAST 7 in Sweden. Over half a year after BEAST 7 took place in February, several of the winners have been expressing their discontent and bafflement at where exactly the money for their winnings went.
Compete solicited a statement from the organizers, who expressed skepticism that the winners would be paid at all.
Smash Bros. players have previously expressed issues that their tournament scenes are not taken seriously by Nintendo or organizers, leading to issues with money and even contemplation of unionizing for realistic breaks. As EVO numbers for both Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U rise, tournaments will presumably grow more professional or be forced out.

Not content with waiting for Star Wars amusement parts to be built in 2019, Disney is introducing VR experiences at Disneyland and Walt Disney World later this year.
The experience, titled Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire, is being built by VR immersion company The Void. The Void made a name for themselves last year when they built a Ghostbusters experience that debuted at Madame Tussauds in New York. The Ghostbusters VR experience involved players interacting with physical objects that were pre-programmed into the virtual world.
Disney and The Void plan to launch Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire this year at Disneyland's Downtown Disney and Disney World's Disney Springs. The full Star Wars amusement park within Disney parks is on schedule for a 2019 debut.
