Darkest Dungeon Coming To iPad Later This Month

Developer Red Hook Studios announced today that its turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon will be making its way to iOS later this month. This version will be playable on iPad.

In a blog post, Red Hook Studios writes that this port was made possible with the help of their development partner Blitworks and that the two have been "working on the project for a while" and that it was difficult to "keep under wraps" while finishing up the Crimson Court DLC.

All key features found on the game's other platforms will be featured in this tablet version. For players that already own the game on PC, Mac, or Linux, they will be happy to hear they can transfer their progress to the iPad, thanks to a feature that allows save file exporting through Dropbox.

Ubisoft Opens New Studio In Sweden, Led By Former EA DICE Studio Manager

Ubisoft announced that its latest studio is opening in Stockholm, Sweden, with former EA DICE studio manager Patrick Bach at the helm.

Bach's career with EA lasted 15 years, where he worked on popular franchises like Battlefield. With his new position as Ubisoft Stockholm's studio manager, Bach is looking forward to the new experience. "I am thrilled to be joining the Ubisoft family, where I feel I will be able to use my experience in the game industry in a new and different way," he says in a press release. "My goal has always been to create the best possible gaming experiences for players. When talking to Ubisoft about what we value most, it was clear that we share the same passion for nurturing teams’ creativity with that goal in mind."

Ubisoft Stockholm plans to collaborate with Massive Entertainment, a Ubisoft studio in Malmö, Sweden, for development on several AAA games such as the Avatar game that was announced earlier this year. The new studio expects to build a team of 100 in its first two years of operation. Job recruitment is beginning immediately.

This message appears to be false. Over at PCGamesN, writer Ben Barrett put the claim to the test, purposely failing 50 times to see if his progress would be deleted. It did not. You can watch the whole video here:

We visited Sledgehammer Games to delve into each of these distinct gameplay offerings, get hands-on time with zombies and multiplayer, and learn exclusive details on many aspects of the game in our cover story.
