Coming Xbox One Update Allows Transfers To Xbox One X, Adds Light Mode

Xbox Design Head Mike Ybarra has announced at Gamescom that the new Xbox One update will add a number of new features. Many of them have been covered already, but newly announced features include transfers from your old Xbox One to an Xbox One X and a light mode.

Below is an example of what you can transfer to a new Xbox One X. Before you get the system, you can download all the 4K content for your games so it will be ready to go on the Xbox One X and back up all your settings and preferences before you go. You can then move over everything to an external harddrive or transfer over your home network.

Next is the Xbox One light mode, which lightens up all your windows from the console's traditional dark interface. This will be a lot help the menus pop a bit and will be user selectable during the next update.

Halo 5 And Quantum Break Getting Free 4K Updates For Xbox One X

If you are still on the fence as to why you should throw down $499 to upgrade to Xbox One X on November 7, Microsoft today announced two new games are being enhanced for this powerful new console. During Microsoft pre-Gamescom livesteam, Aaron Greenberg, the head of games marketing at Microsoft, revealed Halo 5 and Quantum Break are both receiving free 4K updates for Xbox One X.

Greenberg also stated that Microsoft is pleased with the feedback coming in from third-party developers that are working with Xbox One X, noting that Respawn's Titanfall 2, and Bethesda's Fallout 4 will be offering free 4K updates later this year. Greenberg concluded that over 100 games will be enhanced for Xbox One X. We don't know exactly what these patches will enhance in each game, but it does sound like developers are mostly on board for giving adopters a better gaming experience.
