Australian Classification Hints At Possible Castlevania Collection

Australian Classification Hints At Possible Castlevania Collection

Konami recently registered something called the Castlevania Anniversary Collection with the Australian Classification Board, which might tease that the company is going to whip something up for the Gothic action series. However, the first Castlevania will be 33 this year, so the "anniversary" this is referring to is unconventional... or this collection might be further down the road.

If this turns out to be true, the more important question is exactly what games would be included in such a collection? Would it just be the NES and SNES platformers, the more sprawling RPG-like games from PS1 and DS, or the more recent Lords of Shadow and its sequel (2020 will be the 10th anniversary of Lords of Shadow)? Or will it be a more ambitious and exhaustive collection of everything? Adding to that speculation, the classification notes the game's content as having nudity which would further suggest that it might be remasters of MercurySteam's games rather than a collection of the older titles.

Konami already released a collection for PS4 titled Castlevania Requiem that bundled both Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. That was released last October, so it could certainly fall into a similar camp.

To The Moon Developer Teases New Murder Thriller Project Impostor Factory

When To The Moon released in 2011, the narrative adventure game was beloved by fans for its strong and ethically dubious story. While developer Freebird Games has been hard at work at various things, they have also teased what appears to be a similar narrative follow-up in the form of a murder thriller called Impostor Factory.

You can check out the very short teaser, and I emphasize the teaser aspect, below.

The developer has described the game as "a time-resetting thriller-mystery that involves a series of bloody murders," which sounds like a fun romp. I notice they did not necessarily say you were solving these murders, just that it involves them.

Indie Ninja Platformer The Messenger Coming To PS4 Next Week

Indie action platformer The Messenger released last year on PC and Switch to acclaim from fans and critics alike, as its close adherence to NES games that inspired it combining with non-traditional ideas like switching graphical styles with time travel appealed to a lot of fans. Now players on the PlayStation 4 will get to see what all the fuss is about as the game releases in just one week on the console.

You can check out a gameplay trailer of the PlayStation 4 version below, but it seems to be identical to the PC and Switch releases.

The new picnic expansion is arriving to all platforms, including the PS4, when it launches later this year. Fans of old school platforming should take a look at the PS4 version of The Messenger when it launches on March 19.

In a recent press release, Netflix announced that it is working on an anime adaptation of Dragon's Dogma. The streaming service is partnering with animation studio Sublimation to bring the project to life.

Hardly any other details are mentioned, so we don't know when this releases or what the voice cast will look like. Still, I'm excited to see what comes of it.

Lawsuits Against Fortnite Dances Dropped Temporarily

Lawsuits Against Fortnite Dances Dropped Temporarily

Fortnite has had a ridiculous amount of success the last couple years, but it hasn't been without controversy. Last year, several lawsuits were filed against Epic Games in regards to in-game dance emotes.

Now, 'Fresh Prince' star Alfonso Ribeiro, rapper 2 Milly, Backpack Kid, and Orange Shirt Kid have dropped their lawsuits temporarily, according to Hollywood Reporter.

This comes after a recent change how copyright law is handled. Just days ago, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that under the Copyright Act, plaintiffs must wait until the U.S. Copyright Office has accepted or refused the registration, which could take months. The U.S. Copyright Office declined registration for the Carlton dance, which Ribeiro had sued about in December. The office says that it is a "simple dance routine."
