Capcom has released its latest financial report, which shows how the company is performing halfway into its fiscal year. In short, it's doing well, with net sales up by 17 percent year-over-year.

Net sales are up 17.6 percent from last year's at 33,729 million yen, and operating income has increased 191 percent over last year to 5,001 million yen. That figure includes Capcom's video gaming business as well as income from licensing, pachinko and arcade businesses, and other entertainment divisions.

The company cites a number of recent releases for some of the shared success including the Nintendo Switch's Monster Hunter XX, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and the mobile game Monster Hunter Explore. The company also called out Ultra Street Fighter II The Final Challengers "a smash hit," and cited Resident Evil 7: Biohazard's sales figures, saying the game had shipped more than four million copies worldwide so far.

Sony Rewards Now Lets You Buy Games With Your PlayStation Trophies

After a recent update to Sony's reward program, known as Sony Rewards, you can now earn credit towards game purchases depending on how many PlayStation trophies you have.

If you're a member of the program, the points you accumulate can go towards games or can be converted into PSN currency. What kind of trophies and how many you have in your collection all contribute to how many points you'll be given.

100 silver trophies equals 100 points, 25 gold trophies gets you 250 points, and finally, 10 platinum trophies give you 1000 points. Bronze trophies are not included in the program. To get a title completely free, however, takes a lot of work. For example, 1,000 points only gets you $10 of PSN credit.

Thank You For Helping Us Raise Over $61,000 For Extra Life 2017!

At 8 a.m. this morning, our 25-hour livestream for Extra Life 2017 came to a close. We broke our record of previous years by raising a whopping total of $61,129. All donations are going to the children's hospital Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minnesota.

We want to thank our generous Game Informer community who donated to see us do ridiculous shenanigans like wear dumb hats while playing games, watch Leo eat a scorpion, or see a pie thrown at me three times. I can still smell the residual frosting. We had an absolute blast, and we hope you did too!

We raised nearly $10,000 more than last year, where we reached a milestone of over $52,000. To watch our Extra Life 2017 stream in full, which has now been archived, head here.
