How To Get A Dracolisk Mount In Dragon Age: Inquisition

about X hours ago from

You get a basic horse early in your journey, but if you want to ride on something more exotic in Dragon Age: Inquisition, you need to do some extra work. The dracolisk is a mount that makes a statement, but it isn’t available to buy at any old stable. So how do you get one? Follow this simple guide.

The first step is the hardest: You need to kill a dragon. It doesn’t matter which one. I chose to fight the Ferelden Frostback in Lady Shayna’s Valley in the Hinterlands, but several others are roaming the various areas of Ferelden and Orlais. Unfortunately, the dragon-killing requirement means that you need to reach a reasonably high level before getting your dracolisk; don’t expect to get one right after the prologue. But, once the job is done, you should loot the beast’s body and head back to Skyhold.

At the war table, you will notice a new operation available on the Orlais half of the war table called “The Hunter Shade Dracolisk." It takes several hours to finish, but Josephine gets it done a little quicker than Lelianna or Cullen. All you can do for now is set the operation in motion – go explore new areas and do some other quests while you wait for the final report.

Just Cause 3 Won't Launch With Multiplayer, But You Shouldn't Give Up Hope

When Just Cause 3 releases next year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, it won’t come bundled with a multiplayer mode, but that doesn’t have to stop Avalanche Studios – or anyone else – from adding multiplayer to the game after the fact. What are the chances that Just Cause 3 will eventually receive a multiplayer mode similar to Just Cause 2? We spoke with the developers about the possibility of adding multiplayer in the future and representatives from two of the most likely channels to deliver this mode.

Just Cause 2 was a sprawling open-world experience filled with zany, over-the-top action and a liberal use of explosions. It was one of 2010’s surprise hits, but a few enterprising gamers from Australia thought that one thing would have made Avalanche Studios' solo experience even better: more players.

The Ten Most Insane Moments From Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

Ten years ago on this day, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater hit the PlayStation 2. Snake Eater is packed with awesome stealth gameplay, plenty of straight-faced reflections of the nature of war, and well-realized characters. But it's also filled with moments so crazy and absurd that we'll never be able to forget them. In honor of Snake Eater's 10th anniversary, we've gathered the ten most insane moments from the game.

Grind Time Returns With A Special Dragon Age: Inquisition Stream Tomorrow

Happy Dragon Age: Inquisition launch day! What kind of RPG fans would we be if we weren't celebrating the release with a live stream?

I have some great news for RPG diehards. If you remember, we started a little show called Grind Time: The RPG Live Show a while back. We're still dedicated to it, and now that we have our new video producer, Wade Wojcik, we're back to making it a regular occurrence with monthly episodes and special streams when new RPGs hit town. This, of course, involves taking a look at the highly anticipated Dragon Age: Inquisition.

In case you missed it, we had an episode on our Extra Life live stream dedicated the Dragon Age series, but Inquisition wasn't out at that time to discuss it. We're remedying that now. The stream starts at 2:00 pm Eastern/11:00 am Pacific on 11/18. We'll be streaming for around two hours to discuss BioWare, the game, and more. We already showed you the first 45 minutes, so we'll be picking up right after that. This doesn't contain any major spoilers. If anything, we're hoping to give you a better look at the world and the combat. We'll also be taking your questions, so it's your chance to ask us what you want to know about the game and our thoughts about the series in general.

The Silliest Apparel In The Metal Gear Solid Series

The Silliest Apparel In The Metal Gear Solid Series

On this, the 10th anniversary of Metal Gear Solid 3, we're looking about at some of the strangest things worn by the series' serpentine protagonists. The odd attire isn't just specific to the third installment though, so we've pulled together our favorite of Snake's unconventional outfits.

Beyond looking odd, wearing different outfits at different times and in different places can elicit unique responses from NPCs, making them an even more intriguing aspect of gameplay. So kick back, put that wonderful Snake Eater theme song on repeat, and check out some of Snake's weirder fashion choices.

Crocodile Cap (Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear Online)Hidden in a clearing in the Chyornyj Prud area of Metal Gear Solid 3, the Crocodile Cap has the ability to scare enemies and ward off guard dogs when Snake is submerged in water, fooling them into believing he's a real crocodile.

Inside Square Enix's Long-Term Play For The Future Of Gaming

about X hours ago from

We've all heard the refrain that "cloud-based gaming is the future". Services like OnLive and PlayStation Now and cloud technology like Microsoft built into the Xbox One are each taking a stab at harnessing "the power of the cloud". Years ago Square Enix investigated the cloud-gaming strategies for other companies and discovered that they would be in the best position for the future if they built their own infrastructure and service. They created a new subsidiary called Shinra Technologies, you can click here to learn more about why they decided to name the company after an evil corporation from Final Fantasy VII. While visiting Avalanche Studios for our Just Cause 3 cover story, we stepped into the sparse conference room that is the temporary office space for Shinra Technologies and spoke with senior vice president of business Jacob Navok about Sqaure's ambitious plans for the future of cloud gaming.

Watch the video below to learn more about what separates Square Enix's vision of cloud gaming from their competition and what it means for indie and larger developers. You can also jump to 11:42 in the video to hear Navok talk about Shinra's partnership with Avalanche Studios and what it could mean for the future of multiplayer in Just Cause 3.

How Cloud Brought Shinra And Avalanche Together

about X hours ago from

Two months ago Square Enix announced that they were forming a new subsidiary with a focus on cloud gaming called Shinra Technologies. The internet was confused. Why would Square Enix name a company after the evil corporation they created for Final Fantasy VII? Did they realize how bizarre it is that a company called Shinra is partnering with a studio named Avalanche? We swung by the Shinra Technologies office (currently located within Avalanche Studios, which is busy developing Just Cause 3) and spoke to senior vice president of business Jacob Navok to get the full story on how Final Fantasy VII's lore is invading a very serious business.

Watch the video below to hear a very dorky discussion about Final Fantasy VII, or click here to learn more about the company's ambitious vision for the future of cloud gaming.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Was Almost A Zelda Game

about X hours ago from

Before Captain Toad ever made his debut in Super Mario 3D Land, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker director Shinya Hiratake dreamed of a game set inside smaller worlds. He had reasoned that if he removed the jumping mechanic from a platformer that he could shrink a game's levels by a significant degree. However, Hiratake figured that this kind of a game wouldn't fit into the Mario universe since most of those characters could jump. However, The Legend of Zelda's Link would be the perfect protagonist for a game like this.

Hiratake and a small team actually worked up a small tech demo of what a diorama-like game starring Link would look like and presented it to several of Nintendo's higher ups. "We must have done too good of a job with our demo," says Hiratake, "because during our presentation, Mr. Miyamoto asked us how we were planning on bringing these dioramas into production. He thought we were pitching him an actual physical product design."

Live Stream - Grand Theft Auto V PS4

Grand Theft Auto V releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One tomorrow. Rather than just porting over the same content, Rockstar has added a handful of touches to these versions, including a new first-person perspective, which, as you'll soon see, adds greatly to the Grand Theft Auto experience. Other additions include new songs, vehicles, a murder mystery mission, and wildlife to encounter. We're going to try and show off as much of this new content as we can.

Come join my live stream right HERE, and feel free to ask any questions that you want about this enhanced version. I'm playing on PlayStation 4 currently, but will be showing off the Xbox One version later in the day.
