The final chapter in the StarCraft II trilogy brings some answers and resolutions to character arcs and the story, but since we're against spoilers of any kind around here, join us for a peek a the new co-op multiplayer. These adventures put players with friends or random players and have them tackle a variety of objectives, with a set of special cooldown skills and units based on their "commander".

Whether you're into warping in units with Artanis or going for the big drill with Swann, there's a variety of styles to pick from and progress with - experience earned in each match will unlock new abilities and skills that can be used to challenge harder difficulties for more rewards and unlocks! It's a cool mode that keeps the "pve" aspect from the campaign rolling with your Battle.net friends after the final curtain call.

Exclusive Hands-On Impressions Of Quantum Break's Time-Warping Gunplay

During our trip to Finland to see Quantum Break, Remedy handed us the controller for a play session – the first for anyone outside of Remedy Games. Ben Reeves and I each played through the same sequence, which gave us a chance to solve a simple puzzle and get into some gunplay. The puzzle involved rewinding time in order to walk across a platform that had fallen, and the shooting involved taking on a handful of soldiers in a warehouse. Following our demo, we discussed our experience with the time powers and how they can be used to take on the villainous Monarch Solutions corporation.

Kyle: While we were in Finland covering Quantum Break, we both had a chance to play the game. It was actually the first time anyone outside of Remedy had gotten their hands on a controller to play. It was brief, but we played through an early combat scenario in a warehouse that offered different opportunities on how to approach the fight. 

Ben: Yeah. I think right off the bat we can say that you can’t do the Max Payne slow-mo dive and shoot, which is a little strange, because it would have been so easy to include. That said, I think they make good use of time and allowing players to do some interesting things with time manipulation. Did you have a favorite time power?

Assassin's Creed Syndicate is a step in the right direction for Ubisoft's annual series – especially considering the disastrous release of Assassin's Creed Unity in 2014. However, Syndicate isn't only good because it avoids the pitfalls of its predecessor; it combines some fun elements of older entries while adding its own spin on the formula (read our review). We spoke to game director Scott Phillips about the process of creating Syndicate and the decisions the team had to make along the way.

Our team talked to you several years back when we did a cover story on Saints Row: The Third. Even though that’s a much goofier series, what were some lessons you learned from it that you applied to Syndicate? Making sure that the player has fun and focusing on the player experience first was stuff that I brought forward from Saints Row. I tried to remind everyone – game design, level design, art, audio – to make sure to celebrate the players and make sure they’re enjoying their time with the game. Leave a lot of opportunities for them to express themselves and try new things – and to surprise us as developers. I think that comes through in Syndicate.

We Put The Mega Yarn Yoshi Amiibo Side-By-Side With The Other Yoshi Amiibos

Nintendo's upcoming Mega Yarn Yoshi Amiibo stands at around 8 inches tall, making it the largest Amiibo released to this point. But how big does the Amiibo, which draws inspiration from Yoshi's massive transformation in Yoshi's Woolly World,  look when compared to the the other Yoshi Amiibo figures released to this point?

In case you've never had the chance to feel the a Yarn Yoshi Amiibo, they aren't made of the hard plastic that standard Amiibos are made of. Instead, they feel more like stuffed animals. With the standard Yarn Yoshi Amiibos, the Amiibo chip is by the tail of the character, while in the Mega Yarn Yoshi Amiibo, the chip is in the bottom of its foot. The Mega Yarn Yoshi Amiibo also comes with a foldable piece of decorated cardboard that helps it stand upright in more stable fashion. He may be much larger than the average Amiibo, but functionally he offers the same unlockables as the standard Yoshi Amiibo.

This weekend we raised over $38,000 for Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, MN thanks to the generous donors watching our 24-hour Extra Life stream. We couldn't have done it without you all, so you have our eternal thanks. We had a lot of fun on the stream, from eating way too many ghost peppers to watching the majesty of Matt Helgeson rapping, so the archive below is an opportunity to relive the magic. While the stream is over, the mission continues. It's not too late to donate to the cause or start planning for next year's charity drive for Team Game Informer. We want to point out that the stream will have a sequel of sorts, since we still have to read the entire cancelled Resident Evil movie script once Tim Turi regains his health and more importantly, his voice. The primary skill allocation breakdown suggests where you should place the majority of your points when creating your character. Once you have that settled, follow the perks recommendations.
