We Played 9 Holes Of Fortnite Minigolf At PAX West

Fortnite is a big huge game that everyone is playing, which is why Epic decided, rather than have the game available to play at PAX West, it would create a different kind of Fortnite game and Dan Tack and I were able to take it for a spin.

There were nine holes of minigolf all modeled after Fortnite.

A bit of trivia – this is what the bus looks like when it is on the ground and is integrated into a minigolf hole.

Seen At PAX West 2018

PAX West 2018 is happening in Seattle right now and there is lots to see and do. We can't help you with the 'do' part of that equation if you're not at the show, but we can take care of the 'see' part if you're interested.

Hey, Spider-Man is here!

I wouldn't trust that guy.

The Best Indie Games We Played At PAX West 2018

PAX West has been going strong for 15 years and the show has become a pillar for the independent developer community as a place to show off the latest and greatest indie games. Titles are spread out across the show floor nestled inside booths for platform holders, given front-and-center placement with independent publishers, creating long lines at the Indie Megabooth, and some of the most interesting games are just a laptop connected to a TV on lone tables on the side.

While Game Informer was at PAX West, we got a chance to look at some of the best and brightest independent games brought to the show.

Games are listed alphabetically.

Here's God Of War Director Cory Barlog's Pitch For A Superman Video Game

During PAX West 2018, there was a panel discussing the curious issue of why there has never been a great Superman video game. Why is it so difficult to take the beloved character and let players control him? Host Jared Petty of of Hop, Blip, and a Jump was joined by Greg Miller of Kinda Funny, Kat Bailey of USGamer, Sydnee Goodman of IGN, and Frank Cifaldi of GameHistory.org to discuss why there have been so many bad Superman video games and pitch their own ideas for one. Also part of the panel was Cory Barlog, director of this year's God of War. He had a few of his own Superman video game ideas, which you can read below.

After delivering his pitch, an audience member asked about the gameplay of Barlog's Superman game, which he replied, "You noticed I didn't mention that part, huh?"

Finally, Barlog said that the studio that would develop this Superman game would be Ninja Theory. For more from Cory Barlog, head here to watch that time we asked him 102 rapid-fire questions about God of War.

18 Astute Observations From Cyberpunk 2077’s Crazy Demo

18 Astute Observations From Cyberpunk 2077’s Crazy Demo

More than two months after raking in countless Best of Show awards at E3, video footage of Cyberpunk 2077’s whopping 48-minute gameplay demo is finally available to the public. Join me as I expound on all the things that stood out to my decidedly low-tech peepers.

Look, I know I normally start Funny To A Point with a long, rambling intro that justifies my expertise in analyzing these sorts of demos, but here’s the thing: The video was really long, okay? Like longer than an episode of America’s Got Talent – and almost longer than an episode of America’s Got Talent feels like when you’re watching it! As such, I had to save all of my rambling for the actual feature this week, so we’re just going to dive right in. If you’ve already seen the video, try not to feel too bad for missing these incredibly perceptive and enlightening observations. If you haven’t watched it, you should do so right now – otherwise you won’t know what the hell I’m talking about!

Science-Fiction Weekly – Destiny 2: Forsaken's Strike, Star Wars Resistance, Destination Primus Vita, Solar Opposites

Patrick Stewart is reprising his iconic role of captain Picard in a new television series. Is there any chance William Shatner could come back as Captain Kirk? Maybe, but not as a series. In an interview with Toronto Star, Shatner says he's focusing on other things in his life. “I’ve been offered many series over the years," he says. "But I haven’t done them because of the commitment of time. And at this stage of my life that’s more valuable than anything else.” He added that he would maybe be open for a cameo, but admits it would be tough given the permission process at Paramount.

I don't know how it would work out, but I would love to see a Q episode that unites as many of the captains as possible. At the very least, we need another clip of Kirk and Picard riding horses in a prairie. Shatner's horse control is astounding.
