New Battleborn Characters Revealed

As we begin 2016, we look forward to some of this year's big co-op releases. One of the major players this year is Gearbox's new IP, Battleborn. The title has been delayed until May and hopefully the extra time means there are some good improvements being made to the title. While we anticipate further news, here are some screens of two new characters: Ghalt and Deande. Not much has been revealed about who these folks are, but the screens show Ghalt wielding shotguns and some kind of grappling gun, while Deande has a fan weapon and is referenced as the "Spymaster."Battleborn is currently slated for release on May 3, 2016.

The digital necromancers down at Blizzard are once again breathing life into the well-bludgeoned corpse of Diablo 3. Thursday Stream Recap: Taylor and Enoch vs Nuclear Throne!

about X hours ago from

I'm going to ask you a question, and I'd like an honest answer.  Let's say you've been asleep for quite some time, and when you wake up, it's on a morning far into the future.  The land around you is blighted with irradiation.  Someone across the flames of your pre-dawn campfire mentions a "Nuclear Throne".  Do you try and claim it for yourself? No?  Well, what if your name was "Fish"?  What then?  Still nothing?  How about if both your name was "Fish" and you were a humanoid, mutated fish?  What if you had a laser pistol and a passing knowledge of how to roll? What if everyone else around you had a weapon, wanted you dead, and were real jerks about the whole thing?  And what if you knew the only way to guarantee both your safety and the ability to rub their faces in said safety was to ascend this so-called "Nuclear Throne"?

The Co-Op Game of the Year for 2015

The Co-Op Game of the Year for 2015

Honestly, the Co-Op Game of the Year for 2015 was one that I don't think any single staff member would have picked at the beginning of the year. It simply came out of left field, snuck up on us right before the busy fall gaming season, and surprised everyone with it's fun gameplay. In a year that saw a new Halo as well as Call of Duty's return to a proper co-op campaign, it was a smaller title set in the Warhammer universe that captured our love of cooperative gameplay.

MMO Co-Opportunities Volume LXII: Content with the Content

A new year, new updates to current MMOs. While there are certainly new MMOs on the horizon, of late the trend has been to nurture the player base of existing MMOs. This month, our MMO news stories showcase just that: updates to Neverwinter (on Xbox One), a continuation to the Knights of the Fallen Empire for Star Wars: the Old Republic, and an upco...Read More

Dungeon Defenders II Gets Better Loot with Latest Update

about X hours ago from

In case you missed the news a few months back, Dungeon Defenders II is out, in alpha (Early Access), free to play for all. That's good news right there, but the continuing good news is that developer Trendy Entertainment has rolled out a substantial update. Called The Harbinger Awakens, it's got a new boss, more loot, and according to the official notes, more fun!The sticker on the front of the tin pushes one of Dungeon Defenders II's biggest new tweaks: the loot/trash ratio. Before, as you were tower defending and action gaming, you'd find a lot of pick-ups but end up hating most of them. Now, with that Harbinger thing awakened on his airship, the loot is a lot better. Drops are a little less frequent, of course, but when you see the shiny, you know it'll be worth your time.Another nice change is the level grind. Players can reach level 40 faster than before, and the endgame 38-50 grind has been significantly eased, making your path to more content smoother than ever. Oh, and speaking of killing all the baddies, the update includes new weapons for each class! Take one of them to the airship for your fight with the Harbinger, why not? You'll need the firepower, that's for sure.

Our Weekend In Gaming: We Made It!

Our Weekend In Gaming: We Made It!

Guys.  You guys.  We did it.  We survived another entire year without any (major) mishaps.  I think that's worthy of celebration, at least in the form of another weekend spent on the couch or huddled in front of the warm glow of an LCD monitor.  Staying alive ain't easy work.More importantly, this is the first Weekend in Gaming of the new year.  If we don't get ourselves off to a good start now, who knows what it'll lead to?  By spring, we could be knee-deep in Clash of Clans knockoffs.  By summer, the site may shift to exclusively covering the Touhou series!  By fall, we could be focusing on single-player games.Heaven forbid.
