about X hours ago from

It's just a touch late to the party, but Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires is finally out for game-starved PlayStation Vita owners. The portable version packs all the strategy, the characters, and the co-op from the console versions into your hands, allowing you to use the touchscreen to unleash special skills and dominate the battlefield. Take that, other dynasties! With a balanced mixture of strategy and combat, the long running Dynasty Warriors series has made an appearance in so many forms it's hard to keep count. Eight main games, with spin-offs and expansions of just about every one lurking on Xbox, PlayStation, and other systems. Plenty of content to go around, especially if huge rosters of playable characters is your thing. Empires features 83 in all. Good luck memorizing their names.Probably our favorite bit of news about Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires for PS Vita is that it includes two playercouch  co-op. Grab a tactically-minded buddy for local ad-hoc cooperative multiplayer and survive the battles of ‘Empire Mode’ or the challenge scenarios in ‘Free Mode’. Your choice, we're not gonna tell you how to game. If you own the PS3 or PS4 versions of the game, you can even get a little cross-play going between systems. All DLC purchased can be transferred between console and handheld versions free of charge.

F.A.L.C.O. Causing A Ruckus In GTA Online

about X hours ago from

This past friday, the Friday Awesomely Live Co-Op crew proved that a life of crime can start with BMX bikes, your friends, and your local Los Santos gas station. Well, that and some guns. If our GTA Online shenanigans prove anything, it's that we'd make pretty awesome criminals. Good thing the three of us are too lazy to actually try any of this in real life, because if we did, there'd be a trail of destruction, murdered cops, and stolen helicopters. On the other hand, that penthouse apartment on Wild Oats Drive looks pretty dope. Seriously, the lines between GTA Online and reality are starting to fade. Maybe I need to see my shrink. After a healthy hour and a half of nonsense, we did actually pull off some legit jobs. Ok, "legit" is in the eye of the beholder, but we got paid, and that's all that matters. Check out the video below.Watch for us on our Twitch channel tomorrow at 8PM CST. We've added a guest to our crew and we're going to take a shot at the first 4-player heist, Prison Break. We've never attempted it before, so if you have any advice, leave a comment, or chat with us tomorrow on Twitch. Hope to see you then!

Dying Light Dev Tools Expanded to Allow Custom Co-Op

about X hours ago from

Last April we talked about how Techland, the developer behind Dying Light, was working on updating their free developer tools to allow players to make their own custom co-op scenario. Yesterday, that change finally happened. This update, which is entirely free for all folks playing the game on PC via Steam (as the tools are built into Steam Workshop), allows users to build their own custom co-op, or PvP, scenarios using the same tools that have been in place since the game launched. If you're interested in making your own scenario, you might want to free up some time in your schedule and start with this series of videos from the developers about how to use the tools. Bonus points will definitely be awarded to the Co-Optimus user that remakes Blighttown from Dark Souls using these tools.

AIPD Releases January 29th

about X hours ago from

If you are jonesing to play a retro arcade style co-op shooter, Blazing Badger has you covered. January 29th will see the release of AIPD (Artificial Intelligence Police Department), a high energy arcade game with bright, neon graphics and a soundtrack that will get your blood pumping.Utilize a completely customizable cyber ship in cyber space to take out cyber criminals. While the game play looks similar to the classic Asteroids, there is more depth to the game than initially meets the eye. You have the ability to completely modify your ship and even the game mechanics to keep things interesting. Grab three friends for up to four player local co-op on a single screen. Channel the voice of Kevin Flynn as you shoot your way through this TRON inspired landscape. From the short trailer and screen caps, the game gives off a Geometry Wars vibe, and will similarly tout online leader boards for you to compare your skills. Blazing Badger won't be held responsible for any self esteem issues this may cause. The Unreal 4 Engine allows for gorgeous 60 FPS play, although staring at all that neon and flashing lights may cause a headache.

Ubisoft Patches Rainbow 6 Siege to Improve Hit Detection

Ubisoft Patches Rainbow 6 Siege to Improve Hit Detection

An update to Rainbow 6 Siege arrived on the PC version last week and is slated to be released to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions tomorrow. The main focus of the patch was to fix issues around hits on enemies/players actually being registered. For the moment, this particular tweak is for the PC but Ubisoft plans on releasing it to consoles once they've gotten more data about whether it works or not from the PC.For all platforms, the other big fix here is to matchmaking and overall connectivity in matches. Online games usually face a handful of problems once the player base gets beyond the usual group of QA testers, so this kind of a fix is to be expected. The full list of patch notes can be found here. All of this is part of Ubisoft's commitment to fixing the biggest issues players are encountering (based on reports from players) as they play the game. This update is the first of two scheduled for the month with the next one likely arriving sometime next week for PC and then on the console after that. Once all of those problems are fixed, I'm curious to see where Ubisoft goes with this game as far as new content and overall gameplay updates. It feels like the game could have legs, but there's not much to keep a lot of players coming back to it.

I don't know if you have noticed, but it is already 2016. This means that all those games that slipped from the lucrative 2015 holiday season are coming soon.  Tom Clancy's The Division is one such game and with a March 8th release date it is about time we saw a new trailer. The life of an agent is dangerous and Ubisoft want to make sure you know this.  The new trailer for the game mixes CGI with some in game footage:When you joined the Division, what were you expecting? I’m sure they told you about the sacrifices you’d have to make. But none of us could have ever predicted this.

Turn Around and Watch This Co-Op Trine 3 Stream of Chapter 6

about X hours ago from

There's something to be said about the physics based puzzles in Trine. When they work, and the solution is somewhat obvious, it can be satisfying. But sometimes the game's physics simply don't cooperate, or the solution to a puzzle may not be easily seen. Soon you find yourself over-thinking Newtonian equations when really all the game wants is to have you jump on a box. Sometimes your co-op partner simply wants to troll you by dropping boxes on the wrong side of a see-saw. Whatever the game tends to throw at you it's as equally entertaining as it is frustrating.Last night's co-op stream had us continue our play through of Trine 3. We attempted to jump to Chapter 6, the next in the sequence, but quickly found ourselves blocked. We realized we needed to do some side missions to gather up the glorious golden triangles that let us progress. After knocking out three of them in 10 minutes we proceeded through Chapter 6 for the next HOUR. Newtonian physics be damned. If you watch any piece of this week's stream tune into the 14 minute mark.
