The Division is Ubisoft's Most Popular Selling Title to Date

about X hours ago from

We've been enjoying taking on the Rikers, Rioters, Cleaners, and other threats to the city of New York since Tom Clancy's The Division launched a week ago. Us and many, many others. So many others, in fact, that it appears the title has broken some sales records for Ubisoft. In a news post last week, the French developer/publisher announced that The Division sold more copies than any previous game within its first 24 hours of release. Members of that development team have got to be feeling good about that, especially when there was a lot of speculation about whether the title would actually ever get released. CEO Yves Guillemot said the launch was "a tremendous achievement for Ubisoft." Hopefully, this kind of success will be enough to keep Vivendi away for a little while longer. We'll have our co-op review of the game going up soon enough, and until then, you can enjoy the ongoing antics of the "C-Team."

Defend Your Tower with Friends in My Tower, My Home

about X hours ago from

I'm a fan of action-oriented tower defense titles. The amount of time I spent playing Sol Survivor was far greater than I could have anticipated. Thus, I am both interested in and hesitant of Shoor Games' new title, My Tower, My Home. Combining the hectic energy of a platform shooter with the chaotic scrambling that happens in those later waves of a tower defense seems like a mighty powerful drug. When a horde of mechanical foes come to your tower seeking to burn it down, what else are you going to do but defend it? Much like any tower defense title, you'll have rounds of ever tougher enemies to fend off, which will drop experience and coins you can spend in between rounds to improve your defenses and your stats. You can go it alone or you can bring along a friend (local only) to play as the hero's trusty robot companion, Sommybot. While the second player won't have quite the same options for upgrades as the main hero, he will have some unique abilities of his own.My Tower, My Home will be available on Steam starting tomorrow, March 16, and features a two player couch co-op mode.

Thursday Stream Recap: Nuclear Throne Episode 7

about X hours ago from

After taking a week off from Nuclear Throne, Taylor and I had a chance to regroup, recalculate, and remember all those times we died in the first six episodes.  Admittedly, most of my time off involved finding a position to lie prone in that didn't make me nauseous, but it seems to have helped all the same.I don't want to spoil anything, but we get a brief glimpse at our final goal this session, and boy howdy, we were not prepared.  We were always bound to learn enemy logic and boss patterns in the early levels due to sheer repetition, but we're now starting to reach my favorite part of roguelikes: the extreme reaches of a successful "run".

PlayStation's Launch Party Features a Selection of Co-Op Titles

about X hours ago from

The PlayStation Store Launch Party got underway today with the release of Ska Studios' latest title, Salt and Sanctuary. An action platformer that shares more than a few ideas in common with the popular Dark Souls series, Salt and Sanctuary also allows two players to team up for some local co-op action. It's not the only cooperative title that will be a part of the party, however.Every week over the course of the next month, a new title will debut on the PSN Store. While some of these games will be solo affairs, there are a couple of anticipated co-op releases in the mix as well. A couple weeks from now, Enter the Gungeon will finally arrive and then a few weeks later will be Housemarque's newest shoot-em-up, Alienation. As a part of this special event, pre-ordering any of these titles through the PlayStation Store will get you a bonus 10% off.Sadly, you can't take advantage of that discount for Salt and Sanctuary, but if you're still interested in the title, then you can take some solace in the knowledge that there's a PS Vita version in the works that will be cross-buy. So pay now and be able to play on the go later!

Prepare to Fire Up in Pang Adventures

about X hours ago from

Arcade lovers of the 90s may remember the beloved Pang series, where two brothers (who could only fire up) popped bubbles that floated around the screen. DotEmu and Pastagames have teamed up to create a new entry in the co-op franchise, Pang Adventures, and it'll arrive next month on PSN.The title appears to maintain much of the same action as its predecessors while also updating the graphics and adding a few new guns into the mix. New to the series this time are boss fights, where the evil aliens that have come to Earth (and flood it with bubbles?) finally make an appearance. There's no campaign but there are three game modes, each of which supports two player couch co-op. The first mode is called Tour Mode and takes you through each of the game's 100 levels one stage at a time. Score Attack gives you three lives and no continues to test how high of a score you can achieve before you're brought low. Finally, Panic Mode will see how long you can survive in the face of 99 continuous levels.

Sniper Elite 4 Coming to PC and Consoles this Year

about X hours ago from

As I've been playing through The Division lately and sniping some Rioters from afar, I couldn't help but think, "I sure wish time would slow way down and I could see the gut-busting impact these bullets were having on those guys." I must not have been the only one thinking that as Rebellion has just announced that Sniper Elite 4 will be hitting PC and consoles sometime this year.Picking up where the last one left off, we'll continue the journey of Karl Fairburne as he now fights alongside the Italian Resistance as they work to take down Mussolini's regime. You'll be traveling through the majestic hills, villages, and vistas of the Italian countryside as you aim down your scope, line up the shot, and watch as some dude's skull gets very badly damaged. There's no specific release date given for the game just yet, though Rebellion has confirmed that the campaign will be entirely co-op for up to two players and there will be some additional co-op modes.

Tom Clancy's The Division: The C-Team - Nick Get's a Scarf!

about X hours ago from

The team has been progressing nicely, now in the upper teens levels we can see the difficulty really start to ramp up in Tom Clancy's The Division. We progress through midtown cleaning up the mean streets of NYC. It's interesting to see the slow progression of our team specializing based on their skills, but I can say one thing, we sure are efficient.Perhaps the best news of the night was after dozens and dozens of pants, jackets and hats -  a teal beam of light emitted from a graveyard around 40th Street. In it's glow was the one item Nick so desperately desired, the one item to stop the deep chill he felt in his bones. Nick finally gets a scarf!
