Rogue Stormers Delayed Until April

Black Forest Games announced today that Rogue Stormers, its rogue-like action platformer title, will now be released on April 21 instead of the original date of March 24. If you own the game on Steam already via Early Access, you'll have a chance to check out an "almost-final" build of the game for a few days next weekend. It's not entirely clear from the message why the dev team decided to push it back a month. There's mention of "using the extra time to make sure Rogue Stormers launches with maximum polish," but one wonders what cropped up this past week within the game that lead them to making this decision. Especially when they went ahead and put out a video just last week touting the game's March 24 release date.As previously mentioned, if you already own the game via Early Access, you can play a version of the game that will be close to the final product. Here's the info Black Forest Games provided to us:

Brief Gameplay Footage for Mutants in Manhattan

about X hours ago from

Activision and PlatinumGames have put out a new video for 2016's lead contender for "Video Game with the Longest Title," Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. Amidst all of the cutscenes and Splinter's voiceover, you'll catch the occasional glimpse of gameplay footage. Most of what's being shown off here are the bosses. You've got Rocksteady, Bebop, Slash, the always popular Wingnut in some kind of laser-shooting platform, and brief glimpses of Shredder and Krang. Throughout the video you'll see a couple seconds of all four turtles battling against these foes, though there's no HUD or other visual elements on the screen so it's hard to say what all is going on outside of "four turtles beating on some boss that doesn't really seem to care."Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan now has a May 24 release date on the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, and PlayStation 4. It supports up to four players via online play for the entire campaign.

New X-Ray Kill Cams for Sniper Elite 4

about X hours ago from

It was just earlier this week that we heard that a new Sniper Elite game, Sniper Elite 4, would be making its way onto the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 this year. Now, the folks over at Eurogamer have been able to see the game in action, and there's promise to be had with the latest entry. The slow motion bullet cam will be making its return, but two new "death" cams have been added: shrapnel and melee. You'll be treated to the former anytime you shoot a red barrel, or other piece of obviously marked environmental object that goes "boom" when shot, near a solider. As the explosion interacts with objects in the environment, you can enjoy the gruesome show of those objects flying into any nearby soldiers. The melee kill cam will kick in anytime you get up close and personal with your enemies.Based on the pre-alpha build that Eurogamer was shown, Sniper Elite 4 sounds to be more ambitious than previous titles. Not just adding more death cams, but expanding the gameplay to allow Karl to hang off ledges, traverse the terrain easier, kill guards with environmental traps, and more. They liken it to some of the things you're able to do in Metal Gear Solid V, which did a lot of amazing things with the open-world genre.

Shadowrun Meets Renegade Ops In The Latest Episode Of F.A.L.C.O.

about X hours ago from

The Friday Awesomely Live Co-Op crew has never claimed to know anything. The other editors here at Co-Optimus are smart, witty, and have their act together. F.A.L.C.O., on the other hand, are just three average gamer dads who enjoy unwinding after a week of working for the man. So last week, when we jumped into Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown, we were surprised to find that all the missions we played were only two player!Co-Optimus hath wronged us! How could this be? Is it an error in the database? Do we need a mod? These questions were answered the following day when we found that we stopped just one mission short of the four-player missions. At the time, however, we had hope that the next mission might be four player, so we pressed onward only to be disappointed twice more. In effort to curb Bobby's boredom and to play something with all three of us, we switch over to Renegade Ops. The game has it's flaws, but when you jump in a game with friends, it's simply a delight to play. I wish the missions made it easier to stick together, but with a little extra effort and communication, co-op really pays off. Granted, you're mostly just drawing enemy fire off each other, but that's still co-op!

DLC Plans for Battleborn Laid Bare

Now that the final two Battleborn characters have been revealed, let's talk about the new five characters that will be added post-launch. 2K posted some information on the game's website yesterday about their plans for the title once it goes live on May 3, starting with the release of some new heroes.According to the publisher, there will be a healthy amount of post-launch support and content for the title. Part of that free content will include new maps, modes, and five new heroes. The first of these heroes that was teased is Alani, a woman that looks like an Eastern monk and sounds like some kind of melee/healer hybrid. These new characters will have to be unlocked in the game once they're released, though no details were given as to how that's accomplished. PlayStation 4 players will get a slight advantage, it seems, as anyone who participates in the forthcoming Open Beta will automatically get Alani unlocked when she's released. In addition to the free content, there will be five DLC packs. Each pack will contain a new story operation, which is the co-op portion of the game, and new skins/taunts. These will sell for $4.99 each, or you can get the Season Pass for $19.99. Or you could pick up the Digital Deluxe Edition for $74.99, which includes the game, Season Pass, and some bonus cosmetic items. It's the best value!

Indie-Ana Co-Op and the Overcooked Interview

Ghost Town Games' Overcooked starts with a simple premise: work together to fix meals in a restaurant. A couple levels in, however, that task becomes much harder as you and your friends will be sliding scross ice floes, fending off rats, or trying to fix a soup in the middle of an earthquake. We spoke with Phil Duncan about where the origination of this concept, the benefits of applying common knowledge to a video game, and an enthusiastic eight year old.
