New Challenge Mode Revealed for Battleborn

New Challenge Mode Revealed for Battleborn

2K has posted a new blog entry that highlights, among other things, a "Hardcore" mode for Battleborn's Story missions. This is the first time this mode has been mentioned and it sounds like a way to keep things going on the co-op side after you've played through the all the missions on normal. They also detailed the minimum/recommended specs for the PC version, which don't seem too bad for an average gaming PC.In addition to a greater difficulty, the Hardcore mode will offer players the chance for "extra loot and all new unlockable content." Not entirely sure what that content may be, but I'm guessing the "extra loot" means you'll be getting more "gear." Gear in Battleborn is similar to class mods in Borderlands; these will boost your damage, skill cooldown time, give you more health/shield, drop a grenade when you die, and so on. You won't be getting the crazy eleventy bajillion guns like in Borderlands, but the gear mods will help you customize your preferred character to fit the way you like to play.

Build Mechs and Survive in Goliath

about X hours ago from

Many survival games are focused on you being a lone person in a vast wilderness. Imagine, however, if you had a giant robot that you could pilot around? That's pretty much the premise for Goliath, a new survival/action game being developed by indie team Whalebox Studio. The game was first teased during last year's E3 with a trailer that showed a forested landscape and a wooden robot punching some monsters. Since then the game has found a publisher, a firm release date has been set, and some more info about what kind of survival you'll be doing has been revealed. The title supports four player online co-op throughout the entire campaign. Players will be able to team up to gather materials and build bigger/better bots. Along the way, you'll encounter various factions in the world, like demons, sentient robots, and other humans, that you can befriend to learn new designs. Each player's world is uniquely generated and the good news is that if you find something really cool in your buddy's world, you'll bring that new design/material/loot over to your own.Goliath launches on Steam on May 12, 2016, for $19.99.

Demo Now Available for Zombasite

You can now get a sampling of Soldak's latest title, Zombasite, without having to pay for the Early Access version. The developer recently released a demo of the title that lets you play through as much of the game as you want, but your character level will be limited. The team's newest action-RPG is set in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies are pretty much the norm. You'll be able to do all the usual things, like gain levels, put points into skill trees, get new loot, etc., but Zombasite will also task you with leading a clan of survivors. These survivors each have their own personality and requests you'll need to manage in addition to dealing with other clans. Maybe you'll establish trade relations with a neighboring clan, or declare war on them and raid them for their goods. The demo for Zombasite is available on their website or via Steam.

Full Mojo Rampage Gets Rough Console Release Date

about X hours ago from

Last fall we heard that Nicalis Inc., the developer/publisher responsible for the amazing "Metroidvania" title Cave Story, would be bringing the voodoo themed Full Mojo Rampage over to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. At the time, no dates were given for when, exactly, that would happen. It's still not precise, but it was just announced that we should be seeing the title arrive sometime this spring. If you haven't checked the game out on the PC, Full Mojo Rampage is an action-RPG with "roguelike" elements. Each player controls a character that pledges their fealty to a particular Loa, a powerful Voodoo spirit. You'll go on a quest to gain more power and knowledge in order to better serve your Loa as you battle other spirits, zombies, and other mystical foes.Full Mojo Rampage supports two players locally and four players online throughout the game's campaign. Additionally, players can play separate co-op modes that include Daily Quests and Survival Mode, and the new Endless Mode that's been added for the console versions.

Learn the Tools of War in Latest Homefront Trailer

about X hours ago from

The latest trailer for Homefront: The Revolution was released and it highlights some of the new features for the title. Chief among these are the ability to modify your weapon on the fly and the "Guerilla Toolkit," which is their term for things like IEDs, a hacking tool, and an explosive R/C car.Based on the narration in the video, each gun will have three configurable sections that allow you to create your own weaponry. You can turn a regular shotgun into a gun that lobs fire at the KPA, or make your pistol into an SMG. This kind of modification will be possible in the single-player campaign as well as the co-op mode. There seems to be an emphasis on using this system along with the special items from the "toolkit" to plan ambushes to take out the KPA rather than go for a head-on fight.Homefront: The Revolution launches May 17 and will support up to four players online in the separate "Resistance Mode."
