MMO Deals: 40% Off Elder Scrolls Online Gold, 66% Off The Secret World

Following news that The Secret World's forums were hacked, maybe the way to entice new players is a discount? Perhaps that's why Funcom has gone ahead with a Bundle Stars sale with a 66% discount on both the Ultimate and Standard Editions of the game. At $20.39 for Ultimate and $10.19 for Standard, we're looking at Summer Sale price levels and the lowest we've seen in recent months.MMO deals continue this week, with the newly released Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition on tap for a big 40% off at GMG. While the game is listed at a $60 price, GMG has the game for only $50, plus a stacking instant 20% off discount, bringing the digital copy to only $40 (you'll see the full 20% off once you log in, until then you will only see 15% off). The Gold Edition includes essentially all of the DLC that you'll find in the new Guilds and Glory pack (which is being priced at the same $40 as the Gold Edition deal here).Last but not least in the co-op PC deal world is God Eater 2 Rage Burst getting its first big discount from an authorized retailer. Since last week's launch Bandai Namco has kept a tight lid on discounts, but today DLGamer fired up a 20% price break making the game only $39.99 over the usual $49.99. Not bad for one of the top selling games on Steam right now.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Hail to the Chiefs

Good afternoon!  The Co-opticrew is recovering from the PAX West News-A-Thon, and to reinforce the fact that we're all totally human and not at all cyborg journalists attached to a central hivemind, we're each doing so in our own, unique ways.  Just like real, organic lifeforms. Some of us are blasting alien pigs.  Some of us are delving into the polygonal unknown.  Some of us are slaying hordes of ratlings.  The important thing, though, is that we're each dealing with our specific issues in ways deemed appropriate by human society and not consuming the nutrient-streams pouring through the vessels attached to our abdominal cavities.

about X hours ago from

A little over a year after its release, the console version of PAYDAY 2 for the PlayStation 4  is getting a bulk of the content that's been available on the PC for the past few years. The good news for everyone that owns the Crimewave Edition is that most of the content will be free. All of these updates are bundled up in a package that developer Starbreeze is calling "The Big Score." This update will be applied to the console versions of PAYDAY 2 automatically and will include "more than 20 free content updates... [including] items like the First World Bank Heist, the Overkill Pack, the Jacket Character Pack, and more." Along with that free content, there are 10 paid DLC packs you can purchase for either $4.99 or $6.99 each, or buy together as a bundle for $39.99. If you don't own the game, then you can get everything for $49.99.Currently, all of this content is only available on the PlayStation 4, however, it should be making its way to the Xbox One soon.

Next Free Ubisoft Title Will be The Crew

Next Free Ubisoft Title Will be The Crew

Ubisoft's 30th Anniversary celebrations continue with this month's free game (on the PC): The Crew. Gather up three of your best friends and drive across the contiguous United States as you take on story missions or just see who can make it from New York to California first. While you can engage in any of the missions with your friends, much of The Crew's appeal seems to come from treating it, to some degree, like a driving sim. Put on some tunes, plan a route, and just drive. Enjoy the scenery and views as you travel across the countryside. Stop at that one restaurant that everyone says is so good in that one city. Treat it like an exercise in role-playing rather than a structured mission game. The Crew will be free to download on the PC via Uplay starting next Wednesday, September 14.

about X hours ago from

And lo, the number of shmup titles has grown by one this day (well, technically, it was a few days ago). Indonesian developer Magesoft just got their first game, Burst Fighter, Greenlit on Steam and is looking at a 2016 release date.Watching the trailer for this game, I can't help but be reminded of a number of shmup games like Ikaruga and Raiden. In addition to a variety of stages and bosses, Burst Fighter also features some ship customization, a new game plus mode, hidden bosses, and two player couch co-op.There's a demo available on the game's itch.io site, if you're interested in checking it out before it's full release.

Running with Rifles Video Review

about X hours ago from

Running with Rifles is a game that is perhaps a little too old school in its ideology. The method by which you have to setup a co-op match alone makes me feel like I should be using a 56k modem. Anton penned our written co-op review, but he also shared a few thoughts in video format, including a helpful "how to setup a co-op match" section. You can check out a demo of Running with Rifles on Steam before deciding whether or not to take the $15 plunge for the full game.

Running With Rifles Co-Op Review

Running With Rifles Co-Op Review

Running With Rifles is a curious game is a little hard to describe accurately. You play the game from a top-down view, moving a little soldier around with the keyboard, and aiming using a mouse-controlled reticule. From that description and the name, you might think this is a twin stick shooter, but it's not.
