Happy Wars On Its Way To Windows 10

Happy Wars continues its journey through the various Microsoft storefronts this month with its release on Windows 10.  Some titles would be happy with one, or even two, platforms to call home, but not ol' Happy Wars.  Starting way back in 2012 on Xbox Live Arcade, Toylogic's free-to-play title served up chaotic online co-op for up to fifteen players.  A few years and many, many battles later, Happy Wars found itself on Steam, and then, the Xbox One.  Still, the developers knew that things weren't quite over for The Little Indie Game That Could, and as of December 15th, it'll find itself on Microsoft's premier PC storefront.  Unfortunately, this means that support for the game's Steam version will be ending, specifically on February 16th of next year.  Players in that version needn't fret, though, as save data can be transferred to the Windows 10 version with relative ease.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Stockpiling

The Co-Opticrew has begun to emerge from their various comfort food-induced comas, which means that the preparation for a harsh winter must begin.  We've already stocked up on almost all the necessities (food, water, firewood, virginal blood to conduct our nightly Yuletide rituals, bedding, etc), so that leaves just one final item:  video games. What specific video games, you ask?  Well, curious stranger, we're stockpiling all kinds.  We've got digital versions of theme parks, street fights, and even road trips to tide us over until springtime.  Why don't you take a look?Nick Puleo (@NickPuleo) - "I'm enjoying FIFA 17's story mode, and of course there's...CIVILIZATION VI."

Spice Up Your Holidays With the Festive Seasoning DLC for Overcooked

about X hours ago from

It's been rather incredible to see how much love Overcooked - a local co-op only title - has been getting these past few months. Entirely deserved, too, from my perspective. To celebrate the holidays, those fine gentlemen at Ghost Town Games are releasing an appropriately themed DLC pack for free.So what's included in this DLC? Well, along with eight new levels, two new chefs, and two new recipes (roast turkey and stew), you get a flamethrower. As if things catching on fire wasn't already enough of a hazard, your co-op partner now has full access to a mobile source of deadly flame. This will surely end well for all parties involved. The "Festive Seasonings" pack should be live now on Steam, where you can actually pick the game up at a 33% discount. It will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next Tuesday, December 6.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition Officially Announced

about X hours ago from

After months of speculation, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition has been officially announced. This remastered unique FPS/action game from 2011 will be storming onto PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One this spring with a few new updates and additional content. On the co-op front, the biggest feature is the inclusion of all six Anarchy maps from the DLC, bringing the total up to 12. The co-op mode was something different within the realm of horde/wave-based modes as players not only had to worry about avoiding death but also trying to max out their score in order to progress to the next round. The best way to do this was to get Team Skillshots, like having one player kick an enemy and another one shooting it.Aside from the updated graphics and inclusion of all DLC content, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition will also include a new single-player game mode (Overkill campaign, which removes all weapon/Skillshot restrictions), new Echo mode maps, and... Duke Nukem. Yep. If you pre-order the game now, you'll be able to play through the entire campaign as Duke Nukem, complete with the Duke's "witty" dialogue.

New Campaign Gameplay Footage for Mass Effect: Andromeda

about X hours ago from

While we got a little bit of info about Mass Effect: Andromeda's revamped co-op mode earlier this week, it appears that's about all we'll be getting for now. There was a new gameplay trailer shown off at The Game Awards last evening, but no mentions of the co-op or how it will tie into the single-player campaign. So, for now, we'll just have to enjoy the pretty graphics.Mass Effect: Andromeda will be arriving sometime in spring 2017 and will support four player online co-op in a separate co-op mode.

During last night's Game Awards, Microsoft and 343 Industries showed off a new trailer for the upcoming Halo Wars 2 that put a little more focus on the Brute, Atriox, you'll be going up against in the campaign. They also made a surprise announcement that Halo Wars: Definitive Edition will be releasing on PC and Xbox One, and you can get it early if you pre-order the Ultimate Edition of the sequel.Let's talk first about the new Halo Wars 2 trailer. Dauntless is an online co-op action RPG where up to 4 players work together to hunt down ferocious beasts called Behemoths. It sounds a lot like Monster Hunter, and with talent from Bio-Ware, Riot, Capcom, and Blizzard feeding into new developer Phoenix Labs, there's a lot of potential.Players, called Slayers in Dauntless, are promised to see a world with"ever-changing, uncharted frontier, brimming with verdant flora and unique wildlife" all with the goal to destroy Behemoths.
