Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope Gets Co-Op

about X hours ago from

The Serious Sam series has always been co-op friendly, but it seemed like their move to virtual reality with Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope was going to be a single-player only affair. That is, until the co-op update landed last week. The VR FPS entered Steam Early Access back in October. Like many shooters in the VR space, this one had players in a pretty stationary position where they would shoot at enemies that ran at them. In other words, a "shooting gallery." With the co-op update, two players can now play through the entire campaign together online.A VR headset is required to play Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope, but the good news is that it supports both the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. What's more, the online co-op allows the two headsets to work together. So if you've got a Vive and your buddy has a Rift, then knock out the "this one is better" banter and enjoy shooting stuff together!

Trailer Out For Sniper Elite 4's "Target: Fuhrer" DLC

about X hours ago from

Ah, and so we're back in the comforting arms of the Sniper Elite series.  2016 has been quite the interesting year, but it's nice to return to a place of familiarity, a place where you've once again been handed a sniper rifle and tasked with eliminating high-profile individuals within the Nazi, Zombie, or Nazi Zombie community.Sniper Elite 4 isn't due out 'til next year (February 14th, specifically), but there's already a bit of DLC announced for the latest stealthy-sniper entry.  "Target: Fuhrer", which will be available on release day and free for those who've pre-ordered the game, drops the player into a coastal facility with the goal of assassinating the admiral in charge of the joint.  Well, next thing you know, Sniper Elite 4 plays the "Oh whoops, your target's been murdered by Hitler" card, and all of a sudden, you're on the hunt for lil' Adolf himself.  For a glimpse of the scenery and all those hapless Nazis you'll have to either avoid or "send to the farm upstate", check out the trailer below.

Steelseries Arctis 3 Headset Review

Steelseries Arctis 3 Headset Review

Steelseries is a big name in headsets, so when they told me they were launching a radically different line, I was intrigued. After using the Arctis 3 in my daily work and gaming routine for over three weeks, I’ve been impressed with the performance, though the experience comes with its own unique, and sometimes annoying, quirks. The Arctis line from Steelseries, a new line of headsets designed from the ground up to refocus on minimalist yet gamer-driven emphasis, launched this fall. While the Arctis 3, Arctis 5, and Arctis 7 have increasingly specialized features, each one is designed to boast the same quality sound. The unit I received was an Arctis 3, the set with the most basic features and lowest price tag of the three. Despite being the least expensive, this price-point ($80) still puts the unit on the high end of mid-cost units. The Arctis 3 comes with the headset and three separate cords. There’s a universal cord which plugs into the headphones and can then plug into a variety of audio out adapters, two of which come with the headset: a short 4-pole adapter (which can plug into controllers, phones, etc.) and a long 3.5 mm analog adapter that can plug into the audio and mic ports of a PC. Compare this with the Arctis 5 ($100 with USB connection and RGB LEDs) and Actis 7 ($150 for USB connection and wireless option).

Xbox One S Deal - Amazon Offers $30 Gift Card and Free Game on Discounted Bundles

Short and sweet. If you're looking for that last minute holiday gift this year, Amazon is offering a free game (Fallout 4) plus a $30 Amazon gift card on select Xbox One S bundles. You'll have few options to choose from, the Xbox One S Gears 4 bundle which includes a 1TB hard drive for $299 or the Xbox One S Battlefield 1 / Xbox One S Minecraft bundle which includes a 500GB hard drive for $249. I'd personally go with the higher storage option (plus it gives you a copy of the excellent co-op action game Gears 4) - but either are a great value.

Demon Slaying aRPG Victor Vran Headed to Consoles Next Year

about X hours ago from

The moody isometric action-RPG Victor Vran is headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in the new year.Unlike other, similar titles, Victor lets players tackle different maps with a variety of objectives to complete. These maps rotate on a daily and weekly basis. Eric, Bobby, and Baldy all seemed to enjoy their time with it during their weekly Friday night stream sessions (F.A.L.C.O.).No set release date or price has been announced for the console versions of Victor Vran, though I'm sure we'll hear more once we get past the holidays.

Episode 3 of Eon Alter Arrives Next Month

about X hours ago from

It's been a while since we lasted checked in with Eon Altar, the role-playing title that attempts to capture a little bit of that tabletop feel by using a central game device (such as a PC or tablet) as the DM/dungeon map and your smartphone as your character sheet/controller. In that time, a new episode of content has been released and a third is now on its way.Titled "Watcher in the Dark," Episode 3 of Eon Altar picks up right where Episode 2 left off with your party (you are playing this with a group of friends, right?) in unfamiliar territory searching for a way out. Similar to the previous episodes, this new one includes two chapters within it, the "Paths of Madness" and the "Hall of the Builders," and amounts to about "3 hours of new content." You will need the first two episodes to play, though, so if you're thinking of getting into the game, probably want to go ahead and just pick up that season pass.Episode 3, "Watcher in the Dark," for Eon Altar will be available on January 19, 2017. No price has been announced, though it is likely safe to assume it will be $6.99 like the two previous episodes. The full season pass is currently available on Steam for $14.99.
