Shovel Knight Local Co-Op Patch Live on Consoles and PC

The Shovel Knight (now updated to Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove) co-op patch we heard about earlier this year has finally arrived. Now everyone can enjoy the joys of swinging a shovel with a friend!Yacht Club Games announced on Monday that the local co-op patch is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Wii U. With the way auto-updating works these days, chances are the patch has already been applied to your version of the game. The developer even posted up a handy little Co-Op Manual to answer those important questions like "What campaigns support co-op" (only the main Shovel Knight campaign) and "Will co-op come to more campaign in the future?" (not at this time). Unfortunately, this local co-op functionality is only supported on the console/PC versions and it is not available for the 3DS or Vita editions.Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Wii U.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Coming to Consoles/PC This Year

about X hours ago from

Come November of this very year 2017, there will be a new sheriff in town: Cowboy Captain America! While his affiliations with Hydra aren't known at the moment, what we do know is that he is one of the multitude of new characters you can play in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 when it comes out later this year.Warner Bros and TT Games announced the new LEGO title earlier this week and even have a little teaser/trailer that lets you know that the real video to tease the game will be revealed at a later point in time (next Tuesday, to be exact). This time around, you'll be facing off against Kang the Conqueror as he attempts to muck about with both time and space. There's a new four player multiplayer/competitive battle mode that's being added and an open hub world area known as "Chronopolis." It's unclear if that four player capability will transfer over into the co-op side of things for the campaign, but we'll certainly keep an eye on it.LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is slated for a November 14, 2017 release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will come out sometime "this holiday season" for the Nintendo Switch.

All Founders' Packs Giveaway for Marvel Heroes Omega on PS4

The PlayStation 4 version of Marvel Heroes Omega has been in a "closed beta" for the past few weeks, but that comes to an end tomorrow, May 18. This is to prepare for a re-launch next Tuesday, May 23, as an open beta for all. For one luck co-op fan out there, though, you can get a head start this Friday and win codes for all five Founders' Packs! That's right, we've got codes for all five of the Founders' Packs (North America only, I'm afraid) that are available for sale on PSN for Marvel Heroes Omega, and we'll be giving all of those codes to one lucky person. That's about $200 worth of stuff and whoever wins will be getting all of this:To add to all of that, by redeeming the codes for all of these packs, you'll also get access to Iron Fist and a bonus Spider-Man Symbiote costume, which are timed exclusives on the PlayStation 4. So, that's a total of 17 of the playable 38 characters, some bonus costumes (which are cosmetic only), 25 Combo Boosts, 2 XP Boosts, and a total of $60 worth of Gs. That's a pretty good "head start" to Marvel Heroes Omega, if I do say so myself.

New Footage Out For Xbox One And PlayStation 4 Versions Of Resident Evil: Revelations

about X hours ago from

Okay, sure, so maybe Resident Evil: Revelations is over five years old now.  And sure, maybe it was originally made for the 3DS.  Still, it's a Resident Evil game that's coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and dagnabbit, that's good enough for me.Capcom has shared a couple videos with us to show off how the past 5 years have been treating Resident Evil: Revelations, and I've got to admit, it's looking pretty decent.  The two videos below combine for about 8 minutes of gameplay footage, so if you're just dying to see what the game will be throwing at you (and somehow didn't see it over the past five years), now's a great chance to.As far as the co-op goes, you and a buddy can link up online to work through the game's Raid Mode.  These co-op specific levels are ripped right from the campaign, so while you won't necessarily get the full story experience, you'll at least get to encounter the same beasties in the same environments.  If you're interested in reviews, our own Mike Katsufrakis checked out the original 3DS version back in 2012, and you can read his thoughts here.

Co-Op Platformer Unit 4 Arrives Next Week on PC and Xbox One

about X hours ago from

Gamera Interactive's debut title, Unit 4, is out next week so it's time to brush up on your platforming skills in order to reclaim your tribe's sacred artifact and save the galaxy. Probably in that order. I mean, it could have a third act twist where the sacred artifact was in you all along, but that seems unlikely. The big hook to Unit 4, other than the classic pixel platformer look and feel, is that up to four players can team up locally to save the day. Each player can choose one of four different playable characters (Agility, Strength, Engineering, or Mysticism), each of which has their own abilities. Working together you'll face six bosses across 15 different levels in order to win the day (hooray!)Unit 4 will be released next Wednesday, May 24, 2017 on PC via Steam and Xbox One.

Hacktag Beta Recap, Early Access Pushed Back

Hacking - everyone's doing it, but nobody knows why. Locke and Jason dive into Hacktag to get a better understanding of this mysterious world and see if they can finally sneak past that rhino guard (spoilers: they can't).The last time we saw Piece of Cake's stealth action game was at this year's PAX East when Tally got hands-on with it for a bit. Since then, the developer kicked off a closed beta that was originally slated to end this week before the Early Access period on Steam began. However, in a blog post yesterday, the developer stated that they needed a little more time to better stabilize the online portion of the game, and they're now making it an open beta, which you can sign-up for to join.

Ubisoft Taking a Season to Focus on Health of Rainbow 6 Siege

Ubisoft Taking a Season to Focus on Health of Rainbow 6 Siege

The original plan for the Year Two DLC content for Rainbow 6 Siege would be, much like last year, it would get released over the course of four "seasons," with new operators, maps, and other goodies released each season. Plans do change, however, and Ubisoft has decided that they need to spend a little time addressing the overall health of the title for now instead of releasing new content. In a blog post last week, the developer went detailed what they now have planned for the shooter over the next few months. Rather than move forward with releasing the next DLC package, which was slated to add two new operators and a new map based around Hong Kong, they are pushing everything back so they can instead spend this time improving the stability of their servers, propping up a test server to try out new features before they go live, and address bugs reported by the community. They're calling it "Operation Health."
