Full Metal Furies Gets a Release Date

about X hours ago from

In a recent announcement video, Cellar Door Games, the team that created 2013’s incredibly fun (although sadly single-player only) Rogue Legacy, spilled the beans that their newest project Full Metal Furies, will be coming to Xbox One and PC January 17, 2018.The announcement from the developer can be read in full here but the best parts highlight that the game will feature a “True Co-Op experience” with 4-player Co-Op. For the game itself, the team at Cellar Door Games took inspiration from classic beat ‘em ups and hopes to follow suit much like Castle Crashers before it. We here at Co-Optimus always love the sound of Castle Crashers-esque Co-Op, so this is fantastic news.In the announcement the developers also state that the game is set to feature a full narrative and somehow address punching foes off the edge of the screen, which is a staple of the beat ‘em up genre.

Epic Loon Gameplay And Plot Reveal

about X hours ago from

What do the films It, Alien, Jurassic Park and Frankenstein all have in common? They’re all featured in the upcoming game Epic Loon from Macrales Studio, a small indie team devoted to diving back into classic movies and letting you take friends with you. In an interview from GamesCom, the team unpacked the direction for where their project is headed, as well as mentioning that, even though only four movies will make up the foundation for the game itself, there will be winks and nods to other popular movies.Epic Loon is set from the perspective of a person watching movies, while the player controls aliens who have invaded the movies as their actions change the film. There are four playable characters (Cap, Gro, Tri and Bou) but unfortunately we only catch a brief glimpse of them in the interview video below. Macrales Studio YouTube channel features both the videos below, where highlights from the former come in the form of the game’s platforms being revealed (PC, X1, PS4, and, if possible, Switch) and the estimated release date (2018 with console ports to follow before Q2 of 2018).

Hunt the Predator in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands

about X hours ago from

Starting today and ending sometime early next month, you and your crew of elite Ghosts can face off against the deadliest hunter of all: the Predator. Ubisoft has added the iconic alien to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands today as a free special event, and if you manage to bring down the galaxy's deadliest hunter (until the xenomorphs from "Aliens" get added, that is), you'll earn some special gear. This special challenge is a separate mission you take on outside of the main story campaign. It can be taken on alone or with your usual co-op crew, but regardless, be prepared. The Predator can cloak, use its Plasma Cannon and Smart Disc, and can freely run around the treetops in order to better get the drop on you. Senior producer Nouredine Abboud even hints that the nuclear option is always on the table. Should you come out on top in this encounter, however, then you'll be rewarded with the Predator's Wrist Blades and helmet, which allows you to turn on that iconic Predator heat vision. The Predator Challenge is available today for free on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. There's also a "Predator Pack" available for purchase if you really want to get in the mood as it feature 15 new customization inspired by the movie. Sadly, one of those options isn't "be Carl Weathers."

Titan Quest Headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Next Spring

Titan Quest Headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Next Spring

I'm sort of out of words for how stunned/impressed I am by THQ Nordic these days. After releasing new DLC for Titan Quest (an 11-year-old game) a few weeks ago, the developer/publisher told THEMSELVES "hold my beer" and announced yesterday that they'll be bringing the action-RPG to consoles in March 2018. Not only that, but they're releasing a Collector's Edition of it, too! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttt??!In all seriousness, good on THQ Nordic for actively working to preserve video games and bring them into a modern era. Titan Quest was my go-to action-RPG for the longest time and every so often I'd get a hankering to play it again. THQ Nordic sated that feeling when they released the Anniversary Edition last year, and then weirdly intensified it with the DLC release last month. Now, I'm waiting to play it again until it's out on the console, a phrase I never thought I'd say about it.

Sword Coast Legends is On Sale for the Last Time

Sword Coast Legends is On Sale for the Last Time

In March of last year, n-Space, the developer behind Sword Coast Legends, was shut down. The game, though, continued on and even got released on consoles a few months later. Presumably, it was the publisher, Digital Extremes that keep things going. Now, though, it seems that that particular publishing contract has expired and so, on December 31, the title will be removed from all digital store fronts.Interestingly, while the title will be removed from Steam, Xbox Marketplace, and PlayStation Store, the game itself will still be playable. Per the announcement on the official website, the servers will remain up "indefinitely after December 31, 2017 so you can continue your adventure throughout the Forgotten Realms."Sword Coast Legends is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One for less than $5 until December 31. You'll also get the Rage of Demons DLC for free when you buy the game. It supports four player co-op throughout the campaign and in the DM Mode, where players can create and run their own campaign with friends.

New Trailer and Details for OVERKILL's The Walking Dead Shows

about X hours ago from

OVERKILL has been rather tight-lipped on their forthcoming co-op FPS title, The Walking Dead. In fact until recently, all we knew about the game was that it involved zombies and supported some kind of co-op, but no idea how many players or if it was just "PAYDAY with zombies" or what. On Monday, the Swedish developer shed a little bit of light on it all.The game will feature four player online co-op throughout the main campaign. Each player will assume the role of one of four playable characters (the first, Aidan, is shown off in the new trailer) and each one will have his/her own unique abilities and progression via a skill tree. In a way, this doesn't sound too dissimilar to the different classes (Mastermind, Enforcer, Ghost, Technician, and Fugitive) from PAYDAY 2.
