[E3 2018] Anthem Gets Release Date and Some Co-Op Gameplay

about X hours ago from

The one game that got the most focus/stage-time during this year's EA press conference was BioWare's forthcoming action-RPG title, Anthem. While they brought a handful of the development team on-stage to talk about the game and what players can expect, I'll admit, it was a little disappointing that more wasn't shown/discussed. This is particularly surprising when you consider it will be arriving February 22, 2019.The first time we got a glimpse of Anthem was at last year's E3. The announcement/reveal of the title was an important moment for BioWare after everything it had gone through the past few months with Mass Effect: Andromeda. What was teased then certainly sounded promising, and it was hard not to draw some comparisons between it Destiny. Since then, however, things have been relatively quiet.

[E3 2018] EA Reveals New Co-Op Platformer Unravel Two

about X hours ago from

EA Play's E3 2018 press conference just wrapped up, and while there wasn't a lot of co-op news, there were a couple things that caught our interest. Up first, Coldwood Interactive revealed Unravel Two, a follow-up to their charming single-player only platformer from 2016. This time around, though, two players can enjoy all the yarn-tastic adventure. Oh, and it's available right this very moment. The development team wanted to shift the focus a little bit this time around for Unravel Two. Where the first game involved controlling the anthropomorphic Yarny as it revisits the memories of its owner's life and the love that connected them all, the second game focuses on the journey and bond that forms when two people set out on an adventure together. Here's how Martin Sahlin, Creative Director at Coldwood, described it during the presentation:Unravel Two is about the new bonds that form when we cut ties to the past. Like Unravel, it is a deeply personal game for the studio and our passion and life experiences are intertwined in the fabric of the journey players and their Yarnys will embark on. Unravel Two is about the unbreakable bond between friends and how hope and love can make the world around us a better place.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Rise Of The Electronic Three

While it's most likely out of mortal fear, none of the Co-Opticrew is acknowledging the "biggest event in gaming" this weekend.  Instead, we're choosing to stave off the panicked rush of video game news for as long as our minds will allow, which means we're diving deep into titles that really get the dopamine flowing.  Be it through loot, quests, or leaderboards, we're keeping focused on contentment before the flood gates inevitably open. We've got aliens, wizards, and higgledy-piggledies all lined up.  Here's hoping it works.Nick Puleo (@NickPuleo) - "Some Inquisitor - Martyr to prepare for our stream next week, perhaps some Destiny 2 PvP as I'm itching for some mindless shooty shooty."

Far Cry 5: Hours Of Darkness Teaser Trailer

about X hours ago from

The latest installment in Ubisoft’s popular Far Cry series has a teaser trailer showing off the new Hours of Darkness DLC that has been recently released. While the video shows off very little, the description on Ubisoft’s official YouTube gives the insight that players can expect to “Escape from behind enemy lines in war-torn Vietnam and get your squad to the extraction zone!”.Far Cry 5 was released in spring of 2018 with co-op baked into the campaign all the way through. While the game itself was awarded a 3.5 out of 5 by Co-Optimus, we also gave the co-op in the game a 4 out of 5, pointing out the clunky story which can be overlooked as you romp around with a friend across Montana. The full review by Enoch Stames can be found here.Ths DLC can be picked up alone or is available to anyone who has purchased the Season Pass for Far Cry 5. While you can acquire the DLC either way, Ubisoft has given Season Pass owners Far Cry 3 for free as well, meaning that if you went into the world of Far Cry without playing the 3rd installment (which we gave an overall 5 out of 5 in our review here) now is the perfect time.

Footage From The Crew 2 Beta Highlights Co-Op Racing

about X hours ago from

As The Crew 2 gets ready to release later this month, the steady stream of gameplay details and videos continue. The guys at Outside Xtra captured some of their time in the recent closed beta, so enjoy nineteen minutes of uninterrupted co-op gameplay that starts with driving in a car, transitions into an airplane, and finishes by taking the role of the worst-suited vehicle for a land race; a boat. The Crew 2 features co-op which is on full display in the video below, showing that no matter which partner wins the race, the victory counts for the team. While you can catch different vehicles in the video below, players can also take control of four-wheelers and motorcycles as other modes of transportation. Although they were not featured, Ubisoft has videos showing all of the various vehicles, which can be found on their YouTube here. While the video is from the closed beta that ended on June 4th, we want to give special thanks to Outside Xtra for sharing the co-op gameplay we here at Co-Optimus are so excited about. After the closed beta, Ubisoft announced plans for an open beta, and, although details have not yet been released, The Crew 2 is set to be part of Ubisoft’s E3 2018 presentation so those details should be coming soon.
