Roguelike Action Platformer 20XX Available Now on Switch and PS4

about X hours ago from

Last year, Batterystaple Games brought their vision of a "modern Mega Man X" game to life with 20XX on the PC. Today, that vision is getting some new life as it makes its way onto the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, and tomorrow on the Xbox One.The title features two player couch or online co-op throughout the main game mode, with each player controlling one of the two initial characters: Nina and Ace. Both characters have their own unique movesets and weapons, and additional characters can be unlocked by completing certain objectives in the game. The console versions of 20XX will also include two characters that were released as DLC on the PC, Hawk and Draco.20XX differs from its inspiration by utilizing procedural generation to create its levels and incorporating rogue-like elements. Essentially, you only have one life to complete all the stages and beat the bosses. There will be some upgrades you earn along the way, but there only apply to that run. If you die, you'll lose all of those augments and go back to HQ. Fortunately, you can spend some special currency (Soul Chips) to unlock new upgrades that will become available in future runs, and even purchase a few to start off your next attempt.

Monster Hunter: World Coming to PC Next Month

Monster Hunter: World Coming to PC Next Month

Monster Hunter: World has brought more people into the beloved franchise than any other iteration thus far. And that's just been on the consoles. PC players have been waiting to get their hands on the game and they won't have much longer to wait. Monster Hunter: World will officially launch on PC on August 9, 2018.It sounds like the PC version of the game will, at least initially, just be the "base game," i.e., Deviljho and Lunastra, two monsters that have been added to the console versions, won't be there at launch nor will many of the events. That content will get added in at a later date, but no timeframe has been specified just yet. What's more, based on what producer Ryozo Tsujimoto told PC Gamer, the game's visuals on the PC "will have parity with the console versions but we're considering releasing a free update after launch." So, the bad news is that PC players will (more or less) be hopping into the same Monster Hunter: World that launched on console back in January. The good news is that it sounds like they'll be pushing to get updates to the PC version much faster.

Remember arcades?  Those ancient purveyors of sensory overload may be few and far between these days, but that doesn't mean you have to say goodbye to the game cabinets lining their walls.  In fact, once November 13th rolls around, Nintendo Switch owners will have access to a whole slew of SNK's finest arcade titles in the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection.Nintendo has commemorated the announcement of the game's release date with a swanky new trailer.Classic games collections are always great to have, but it's especially nice to be able to access all these titles on the Switch, given its portability.  While we do know at least part of the collection will offer local two player co-op, Nintendo has yet to release the full list of games.

New Open World and New Co-Op Activity Coming to Warframe

about X hours ago from

Digital Extremes held their annual TennoCon this weekend and during their traditional "Tenno Live" panel/keynote, they showed off what they have in store this year for their popular free-to-play action game, Warframe. Following in the footsteps of their "Plains of Eidolon" update from last year, a new open-world area will be added to the game - this time on Venus - when the "Fortuna" update drops sometime in the next few months. That's not all, though. The Canadian developers are getting even more ambitious this time around and revealed a new gameplay mode, currently titled "Codename: Railjack," where you and up to three buddies will all pilot a ship together as you engage in some real-time combat against A.I. enemies. What's more, you'll be able to hop into this mode directly from the Venusian landscape. However, don't get too excited just yet. While the "Fortuna" update is planned for a 2018 release (for the PC, at least), the Railjack mode won't be a part of that. It'll arrive sometime later. Here's what will be in the "Fortuna" update when it arrives:

Online Co-Op Coming to Console Version of Human: Fall Flat

about X hours ago from

Judging by the comments section of No Brakes' Human: Fall Flat in our DB, people really want online co-op for this game. The devs must have heard you because, guess what?! It's coming! There will be a free update on August 28, 2018 that adds eight player online co-op to all console versions. The "physics-based puzzle platformer" made its debut on the PC in 2016 at which time it only supported two player couch co-op. The console versions were released in May and December of 2017 and also supported two player couch co-op only, but in the middle of those console releases, the PC version got a free update that added eight player online co-op. The console players have been asking for that same update ever since.Foruntately, they only have to wait a few weeks more. Curve Digital and No Brakes announced this past Thursday that the eight player online co-op update will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game on August 28, 2018.

E-Win Champion Series Gaming Desk Chair Impressions

E-Win Champion Series Gaming Desk Chair Impressions

One of the most important components of your gaming PC setup, is your desk chair. Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time is bad for your health, but a good chair, like a Champion Series gaming chair from E-Win, can help limit the effects of marathon sessions at your desk. After about a month of kicking back in one of these chairs for both work and play, I can definitely say that my body notices the difference. The first thing I noticed while assembling the Champion Series chair that E-Win sent me was that quality is clearly their top priority. The materials are all tougher than you’d expect, the stitching is all strong and clean, and overall the chair feels solid. Assembly itself was pretty simple, and all the parts fit together easily and securely. Upon resting my keister on the Champion Series chair, I could immediately feel my body rejoicing as it was finally properly supported.
