Guacamelee! 2 Co-Op Review

Even after tackling all its challenges and achieving the “true ending” for Guacamelee!, I wanted more; more of its unique brawling action, more of its self-aware humor, and more platforming challenge. Guacamelee! 2 delivers all of that (and then some), but after 5 years between games, “more of the same” may not be what I actually wanted.

Watch The State Of Decay 2 Devs Discuss The "Daybreak" DLC

about X hours ago from

Even though surviving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, scavenging for food and water, and living in constant fear sounds like fun, it can certainly get exhausting.Sometimes you want to just sit back, bring a few high-powered weapons to bear, and mow down waves of mindless zombies.  Hence, State of Decay 2's "Daybreak" DLC.  Instead of the game's usual fare of supply-centric survival, "Daybreak" puts players in the boots of powerful Red Talon mercenaries as they fight off waves of zombies (7, to be exact) while defending a technician who is too busy doing technician things to protect themselves.  Crucially, rewards earned during "Daybreak" feed back into the main campaign."Daybreak" came out last month, and two patches to the game have arrived in the time since.  The SoD2 devs decided to take some time out of their busy workdays to explain what both "Daybreak" and the most recent patch, 4.2, add to the game.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Doing It For The Fans

It's the end of yet another workweek.  Most companies are probably letting their staff "relax" and "recharge" for the next few days, but that's not how things work 'round these parts, no sir/ma'am.  We'll be doing a little thing called gaming this weekend, not for ourselves, but for our fans to live vicariously through us.  Really, this is all for them. So, what will our altruism lead to this weekend?  Probably mini-games, board games, and spider games.  Check it out.Jason Love (@JLove55) - "Probably a little Destiny 2 when I can."

Overwatch's Halloween Co-Op Event Is Back

about X hours ago from

It's that time of year again.  The leaves are starting to fall, comfy sweaters are back in fashion, and good ol' Dr. Junkenstein is up to something he probably shouldn't be.Luckily, the heroes of Overwatch (or in this case, Adlersbrunn) are always ready and willing to thwart... whatever it is he's doing.  That means the game's co-op horde mode is back in the form of Junkenstein's Revenge and, new to this year, Junkenstein's Revenge: Endless Night.  Despite the addition of the extra mode, the formula remains relatively unchanged:  four players each select a hero and then fend off waves of enemies, with each section of time punctuated by a boss fight.Of course, the other main attraction of Overwatch's holiday events is the addition of limited-time skins for some of the game's characters.  Among other new skins, Pharah has transformed into an enchanted suit of armor, Doomfist has assumed the role of a swamp monster, and Moira has somehow gotten herself turned into a banshee.  If you're interested in the full list of new skins and other cosmetic items, check out the official site here.

Over the course of the five minutes you are slowly shown our heroes, their struggles, their weapons, and of course zombies. Numerous maps and locations are hinted as we return to World War II setting once again, just as we were in World at War.Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches this Friday, October 12th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Strange Brigade Has Its First DLC Campaign Mission

about X hours ago from

I bet all you Strange Brigade players out there are feeling pretty good about yourself right now.  You've beaten the main game, attained a respectable point total in Score Attack, and gotten some sweet new items.  More than likely, you're just minutes away from resting on your dang laurels.Well, Rebellion is having none of that, as the first of the game's DLC campaign missions has arrived, alongside some new maps and a brand new character.  Titled "The Thrice Damned Part 1: Isle of the Dead", this initial mission takes players to a Mediterranean pirate settlement that also just happens to contain hordes of the walking dead.  You probably know what happens from there, but if not, check out the launch trailer:As mentioned in the trailer, a new character was also released via the "American Aviatrix Character Expansion Pack".  Tessie Caldwell's her name, and using her submachine gun, pistol, and magical powers on skeletons is presumably her game.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Co-Op Details Revealed

We've known for quite some time that Shadow of the Tomb Raider would have some sort of online cooperative mode, but now we're just starting to uncover the details of what it entails. The first thing to remember is the two player online co-op mode is only available as DLC, whether that's purchased on an individual basis for $4.99 or in the season pass for $24.99. The first piece of content dropping is called The Forge and it's set to release in early November on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.The folks over at Tom's got a chance to play the  content hands on, and it gives us a pretty good idea of just how the co-op is going to work.
