Happy 2019, everyone, and welcome to another year and issue of MMO Co-Opportunities. In this issue, we’ll be overviewing a new episode for Guild War 2’s Living Story, Anniversary gifts for DC Universe Online, and Ragnarok M: Eternal Love’s open beta.
Change is inevitable, but if the Co-Opticrew can cling to a game for as long as humanly possible, then by gosh, they're going to. As such, Destiny 2 remains a prominent feature in our weekend plans. I know the game's in a good place, and this latest expansion has reworked its systems in some very smart ways, but geez y'all, at least pretend to like other things. Not everyone is riding the Bungie Bandwagon, though. Elsewhere, we've got plans with ghostly knights, planeswalkers, and demi-gods. Check it out!Nick Puleo (@NickPuleo) - "Hittin' that Destiny 2 on the road to 650. Continuing my Zelda quests."

QC Games' action-RPG/dungeon crawling hybrid, Breach, will leave Closed Alpha and enter Steam Early Access next Thursday, January 17. This means you and your friends will all have the opportunity to play as a Chronomancer, Mana Warrior, Demon Hunter, Assassin, or one of the other 14 classes as you battle room-by-room through a procedurally generated dungeon.Your main foe in Breach is the Veil Demon, an opponent that can either be controlled by the game's A.I. or by another human (if you've got a fifth friend that's really into griefing). Every room in the dungeon has a goal that the group of players will try to complete while the Veil Demon will do its best to thwart them. Whoever wins will get a boost that will help them with the next encounter/room and, ultimately, the final room that contains the dungeon's boss. There's loot, character progression, and more - win or lose - so you'll have plenty of reason to keep coming back for more.Breach will be available via Steam Early Access on Thursday, January 17 for $24.99 for the Starter Pack that includes 6 Hero characters and a Veil Demon. It will eventually be a free-to-play game with Hero characters going on a weekly rotation and available to unlock using in-game (or premium) currency.

CES 2019 is officially underway and amidst all the tech announcements of newer TVs, new fridges with TVs, and (I'm guessing here) washer/dryers with TVs, there's a bit of gaming news, too. BioWare's third-person RPG shooter, Anthem, is coming out at the end of February, but before that you'll be able to check it out yourself during an "Open Demo" period at the beginning of February. The Open Demo will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting on Friday, February 1, and ending Sunday, February 3. There's also a "VIP Demo" that kicks off in a couple weeks.... but if you want access to that, not only do you need to pre-order the game, you'll also need to have an active subscription to EA Access or Origin Access. That's a lot to throw down for a demo considering you can check it our for free just a couple weeks after that.
If you miss the days of Quake, Quake II, and DOOM (1993) and wish someone would put out a modern version of those classics, then you may be interested in a little title called DUSK. This passion project draws a lot of inspiration from those famous PC FPS games of the early to mid 90s, and in a recent post, one of the developers stated that they have some additional features planned for the title this year, including a console release and co-op.The exact details/nature of that co-op weren't revealed, so we don't have too much to go on here for now. You may notice that the title is in our database but marked with "Co-Op Removed" tag as we wait for further details. There is an Endless Survival Mode, in addition to the campaign and multiplayer, so it's possible that's where the co-op will go, though maybe they're planning some new co-op mode altogether. Who knows! We'll certainly keep an eye on this and update our DB and pass along whatever news we get. Until then, enjoy this release trailer that shows off exactly what this game is all about.
