New Trine 4 Trailer Reveals Its Release Date

about X hours ago from

Nearly 10 years after the release of the first Trine, Frozenbyte has announced that a fourth iteration is on the way for the 2.5D action/puzzle franchise.  Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince bears a spooky title and even spookier release date - October 8th.Naturally, a release date announcement is nothing these days without its accompanying trailer, so this news comes to us with a colorful video as well.  I can't say The Nightmare Prince seems to diverge a huge amount from its predecessors, but some would argue that's for the best.  Regardless, I'm very much looking forward to traversing these gorgeous new levels. The Trine series has long held its sway over the gaming community, particularly those of the cooperative persuasion.  After establishing itself as one of the ur-indie developers back in 2009, Frozenbyte pressed onward, consistently releasing or re-releasing a Trine title every few years.  While they've put out a few other games in the intervening years, Has-Been Heroes among them, the adventures of the Amadeus, Pontius, and Zoya remain their bread and butter.

Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition Release Date Trailer

about X hours ago from

Rebellion’s upcoming Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition for Nintendo Switch has received a release date trailer which proudly touts the October 1st, 2019 release date. While the game was originally available in 2014 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and 4, this Ultimate Edition of Sniper Elite 3 will be the first time the long-running Sniper Elite franchise has reached a Nintendo platform since the WiiU version of Sniper Elite V2 in 2013. Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch version are available now for $39.99 but you can catch the full release date trailer below. We reviewed the original release of Sniper Elite 3, with our own Nick Puleo saying; “Sniper Elite 3 is another solid entry into the series, it refines its own formula with new tools and more open maps for you to play in. The co-op is enhanced with new modes of play that work extremely well, we just wish there was more there to enjoy... If you're looking for a shooter that's a little bit slower paced, offers satisfying enemy kills, and interesting co-op play - Sniper Elite 3 will scratch any or all of those itches.” We gave it a Co-Op Score of 4.5/5, so if you have a Switch but have not had the chance to reduce your foe’s brains to paste, this might be the game for you.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Battle Professors

Our Weekend In Gaming: Battle Professors

The Co-Opticrew is heading to school this weekend, butt-kickin' school.  Whose butt is getting kicked?  Hard to say at the moment, but we'll probably find out when everyone tries to sit down in their office chairs on Monday.  Not all of us are heading down a path of violence, though.  Some of the staff are exploring the galaxy or a mysterious landmass.  While those plans could also easily turn violent, let's hope for nice, peaceful journeys.Let's talk specifics, though.  This weekend, we'll be settling alien planets, punching out rival demi-gods, and nabbing all the sci-fi loot.  Check it out!Nick Puleo (@NickPuleo) - "Diving back into Destiny 2 after a bit of a hiatus. Possibly picking up the new Age of Wonders too..."

August 2019 Games With Gold

about X hours ago from

At the end of every month, we Xbox Live Gold members are on the edge of our seats for the new games that will become free the following month, and the recently-released game lineup for August 2019 does not disappoint. Beginning August 1st, 2019, Gears of War 4 is free to anyone who is an Xbox Gold member, with Forza Motorsport 6 becoming free August 15th, with Gears of War remaining free until August 31st and Forza free until Sep 15th. Both games are only available on Xbox One, as the Xbox 360 is given its own games for the program. In regards to the Xbox 360 games, Torchlight is up first, going free August 1st to 15th before being replaced by Castlevania: Lords of Shadow from August 16th through the 31st. It should be noted that all Xbox 360 games in Games With Gold can be played on Xbox One, but not vice-versa. Unfortunately, neither Xbox 360 game features the co-op we here are such a fan of, and while multiplayer can be found in Forza Motorsport 6, Gears of War 4 is the only true co-op title for this month’s games. Will you be playing across the newest free games from Xbox, or does the lack of co-opportunities leave you longing for a sneak peak at September’s line up? Let us know in the comments below!

LEGO Jurassic World Is Coming To The Switch

about X hours ago from

It's been quite some time since LEGO Jurassic World first graced us with its presence, mostly because it served as a tie-in to the franchise's first movie reboot in 2015.  Even though we're a few years off that initial surge of dino-stalgia, at least one person out there has presumably said, "You know what, we should put this game on the Nintendo Switch".Come September 20th, the fruits of that hypothetical person's labor will arrive in both a physical and digital format.  If you missed the game on its first go-round, you'll have a fantastic opportunity this fall to dive back into the little dinosaur theme park that couldn't.  For a glimpse at all the cooperative platforming available to you, check out the announcement trailer, below:LEGO Jurassic World's Switch release will come jam-packed with the three original DLC packs available for the game.  Between the Jurassic World pack and the two Jurassic Park Trilogy packs, you'll be awash in characters and vehicles, ranging from Iain Malcolm's classic convertible to the Jurassic Response Unit to everyone's favorite character that we definitely all remember, Eric Kirby.

HyperX Double Shot PBT Keycaps in White Review

HyperX Double Shot PBT Keycaps in White Review

HyperX has made a lot of fantastic keyboards over the past few years, but instead of looking at a keyboard in this review, we’ll be looking at something a little different: a full set of replacement keycaps. The HyperX Double Shot PBT Keycaps in White are compatible with all HyperX mechanical keyboards and come with a full set of 104 keys and a keycap removal tool. While I’ve been using (and enjoying) the HyperX FPS & MOBA Gaming Keycaps Upgrade Kit (textured versions of some of the most frequently used keys in MOBAs and FPSs), this was my first foray into the world of fully replacing a keyboard’s keycaps. It honestly couldn’t have come at a better time, as the character printing on some of the keys of my HyperX Alloy FPS RGB mechanical keyboard were beginning to fade in some places.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Rule Of Three

The Co-Opticrew is hoovering up every possible new release this weekend, and the fun doesn't stop there.  With both GenCon and EVO happening over the next few days, we've got our hands (and eyes) full of games of all shapes and sizes.  Unfortunately, none of the staff is able to attend either event, but we'll be keeping tabs on them as we work through a hefty load of sequels and expansions. For this pleasant August weekend, we've lined up fantasy football, robotic kung-fu, and tactical dwarven combat.  Check it out!Nick Puleo (@NickPuleo) - "Marvel ultimate alliance 3!"

Get To Know Zane In Borderlands 3's Latest Character Trailer

about X hours ago from

Borderlands 3 will be soon upon us, filling our lives with its cooperative FPS goodness.  To keep from being overwhelmed by its near-infinite piles of loot, though, we'll need to prepare our bodies and minds, and what better way to do that than with pre-release trailers? This time around, we'll be spending some time with Zane, one of four characters brand new to the franchise.  He's currently in the throes of semi-retirement, having spent most of his life as a corporate hitman.  For one reason or another, though, he's decided to take up arms with the rest of the Borderlands 3 crew and spend his remaining days collecting absurd amounts of weaponry. As with the other characters, Zane has three various skill trees dictating his style of play.  Unique to Zane, though, is the ability to equip two Action Skills at once, which sacrifices his ability to throw grenades.  Just like the trailer hinted at, his skill trees revolve around creating a digital clone of himself, commanding a weaponized, flying drone, or protecting himself and his teammates with a barrier shield.  Given his dual-role ability, Zane will likely be the most flexible of the game's crew, and I'm excited to see if that jives with my own playstyle.
