HyperX Alloy Origins Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (with Aqua Switches) Review

Last October, I reviewed the HyperX Alloy Origins Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (with Red/Linear switches) and had a lot of great things to say about it. Today I’m reviewing the same keyboard, but this time with Aqua/Tactile switches. While it would be easy to just say “The Alloy Origins with Aqua switches is great, just like the last version,” that wouldn’t do this peripheral justice. So let’s jump on in and explore exactly why the Alloy Origins is so fantastic.

Streets Of Rage 4 Has One More Character Trailer And Co-Op Details

about X hours ago from

Let's be real with each other right now.  Punching bad dudes?  That's pretty dang fun.  Punching bad dudes into your buddy, who then slams them into the ground with a sweet kick move?  That's so much fun it should be illegal.  Luckily, we don't have to test the legality of having a good time, as Streets of Rage 4 is bringing it right to your favorite gaming platform. The game's latest trailer spends a substantial chunk of time showing off its final playable character, the powerful Floyd Iraia.  Thanks to Streets of Rage 3's Dr. Zan, Floyd is blessed with cybernetic punching vessels (or arms to the layfolk).  Naturally, he uses these to deliver mountains of pain right into the gut of any baddie unfortunate enough to stand in his path.  Don't take my word, for it, though.  Check out the trailer, below:As you probably noticed, the remainder of the trailer focuses on the game's co-op details.  Online co-op is available for two players, with local co-op handling up to four.  I gotta say - having three of my friends hovering around a console (or PC) and enjoying some nice, old-fashioned brawling sounds like a grand time.

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem Co-Op Stream Recap

about X hours ago from

We finally decided to see what all the hub-bub was about with Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, the online action rpg from Wolcen studio. It's been topping the Steam charts for the past few weeks, scratching everyone's Diablo itch, but could it live up to our expectations? To be honest, we're still very early in the game. Inititial impressions of the Crytek powered game are positive though with distinct vibes of Warhammer, Path of Exile and of course Diablo.Wolcen doesn't have a class system, instead the weapon you equip defines the skills you can use. Skills are acquired through random pickups and vendors and then leveled and customized while using them. Your character itself has four primary attributes of Ferocity, Toughness, Agility, and Wisdom with 10 points being spread between these at each level gain. Finally there's a skill grid called "Gates of Fate" that allows you to further customize your character through a hundred plus nodes of special passive attributes.

HyperX Chargeplay Clutch for Nintendo Switch Review

HyperX Chargeplay Clutch for Nintendo Switch Review

The HyperX Chargeplay Clutch charging case for Nintendo Switch is a multi-use mobile case, detachable battery pack, Switch stand, and controller holder. It’s exceedingly strong in the creativity and innovativeness departments, but misses the mark a bit when it comes to comfort and practicality.Let’s start with the Clutch’s strengths. The construction is sturdy, clearly built to last, and I appreciate how adaptable the entire presentation is. It can be used in two ways: 1) in handheld mode with the joy-cons attached to the screen, or 2) in tabletop mode with the kickstand swung open and the joy-cons reconfigured into controller mode. The Switch slips into the case securely (with a hinge on top to secure the body in place) and converts between modes easily: just slide out the joy-cons, pull the joy-con holders out of the battery pack (they’re fastened magnetically), snap the two holders together, flip up the holder flaps (for securing the joy-cons), then slide your joy-cons back into the holders.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Birthday Boy!

It's a time for celebration!  Our very own Nick Puleo is turning [REDACTED], so he'll be out on the town all weekend.  While the rest of the Co-Opticrew can't be there to celebrate with him, we'll be observing this sacred weekend in our own way, with VIDEO GAMES.  Besides, with Nick out doing non-gaming things for a full forty-eight hours, someone's got to pick up the slack. This weekend, we'll be collecting fancy European birds, domesticating pocket monsters, and hanging out with some very good boahs.  Check it out!Jason Love (@JLove55) - "When I'm not coughing and sneezing, I'll be playing some more Warframe."

The Fantastic Four Are On Their Way To Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

The Fantastic Four will join the alliance to take on the man in the iron mask himself, Doctor Doom, when MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order DLC Pack 3 – Fantastic Four: Shadow of Doom releases on 3/26! #MUA3 pic.twitter.com/2ZZwCdLTEs

Warface Is Now Available On Nintendo Switch

about X hours ago from

Warface, Blackwood Games' free-to-play military shooter, has been making the rounds through the gaming landscape since its release back in 2014.  It's already available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, meaning there's only one of this generation's consoles left to conquer. That's right, folks!  As of today, Warface is available on the Nintendo Switch.  The porting work was accomplished by MY.GAMES' in-house studio, Allods Team, which also brought the game to the other two current-gen consoles.  Naturally, the Switch's iteration is substantially modified from the versions on its more powerful brethren, and the game runs at 30FPS/720p when docked.  Undocked, the quality drops to 540p to maintain a relatively crisp experience.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Won't You Be Mine?

Ah, it's that special time of the year.  A time when significant others all around the world scramble to buy cards and chocolates, then pretend like they didn't just write a love note in the driveway.  The Co-Opticrew hasn't divulged any especially romantic plans this weekend, but there will be plenty of gaming, as usual.  With any luck, it'll be punctuated with a nice dinner and some solid cuddling. As far as video games are concerned, we'll be wrestling for control of the Roman Empire, traversing snowy tundras, and battling miniature Avengers.  Check it out!Nick Puleo (@NickPuleo) - "Rocksmith 2014, Total War: Rome 2, and maybe hopping back into Destiny 2."
