Ubisoft Return to Humble Bundle

about X hours ago from

The Humble Bundle is the type of friend that keeps on giving.  Not only do you get games for as little (or as much) as you want to pay, but you also get to give to charity.  As the deals are time limited, sometimes you miss out.  Therefore, the likes of Ubisoft come back and offer you an encore; in this case games including Rayman Origins, Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Far Cry 3.As with all of these bundles the number of games you get depends on your spend.  For as little as a dollar you can pick up the 4 player co-op Rayman Origins.  The game is great fun and racked up an immense 4.5 out of 5 in our Co-Optimus review.  Your $1 also gets you the none co-op games Grow Home and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. If you are feeling a little more flush you can pay over the average paid (at the moment $6.74) at also get Blacklist and Far Cry 3.  Both are great co-op games; Blacklist getting 4 out of 5 for its 2 player co-op, whilst Far Cry 3 obtained 4.5 for its 4 player co-op shenanigans.  As before you also get a none co-op title in the form of Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China

Three New Friday The 13th Videos Emerge From The Pits Of Hell

about X hours ago from

Much like its titular antagonist, Friday the 13th videos just keep on comin'.  Granted, they haven't been resurrected from the grave by folks of questionable intelligence, but they certainly don't show any signs of slowing down.Close to a month ago, a couple of bloody gameplay trailers were left at our doorstep just begging to be watched.  So naturally, we did what any rational human would do and watched Jason Voorhees slam a poor, nature-enthused teenager's head with a door.  Over and over.  You'd think that, at some point, even the rumors of what happens to people camping at Crystal Lake would be vulgar enough that the US military would just close the campground off as a permanent testing ground for Agent Orange, but it would seem people literally never learn.First on the list is a video from Tom McLoughlin, who you may know as the guy who wrote one of the few Friday movies to achieve any modicum of critical success, Part VI: Jason Lives.  He's got a very special announcement for us Crystal...heads.

Battleborn Stream Recap - Mission 3 and Mission 7 Go Down for Double XP

about X hours ago from

If Battleborn was a CQB game, our performance last night on Mission 7 could only be described as surgical. We absolutely sliced, shot, healed and exploded our way through the mission. If you want a fine display of cooperative play, this is where it's at. We also take on Mission 3, and while not quite as dominating, we do a pretty solid job of wrapping that up. Best of all with our play is we earned double XP thanks to the current ongoing event which wraps up on the 25th of May.The video recaps are posted below along with a link to the entire playlist. We still have a few more missions to post, so be on the lookout for that wrap-up soon.

Brut@l's Co-Op Mechanics Detailed

about X hours ago from

As the ASCII inspired, roguelike dungeon crawler Brut@l approaches its PlayStation 4 release date, developer Stormcloud Games is revealing some new information about how co-op works. Specifically, does the loot drop for each player individually, or is it communal? Can a downed buddy be revived? And perhaps the most important question of all, can I throw a potion at my friend's head to heal him or her?In the PS Blog post, producer Richard Wood answers all of these hot burning questions. Loot is not instanced per player so whatever drops is fair game. As the game supports local co-op only, though, presumably you and your buddy won't be fighting too much over who gets what. You're also free to drop items at any time for your friend, or even throw them at him or her. This sharing extends beyond just loot, too. When a player revives another player, the player that is doing the reviving shares their life with the player getting revived. So, if player one has 50 HP and revives player two, both will have 25 HP.There's still no announced release date for Brut@l, but it should be arriving any day now for the PC and PlayStation 4.

Top-Down Arena Shooter Tankr Headed to Steam in June

about X hours ago from

There was a brief time when I was young when my uncle let my family borrow his Atari. He didn't have a lot of games for it, but I definitely remember spending time playing Tank with my brother and sister. Spanish developer Mighty Toast must have dedicated some of their time playing that game as well as their first title, Tankr, seems to be inspired by it.The big appeal to a game like this is attempting to best your friends in tank v tank combat, which can be done in preset levels and levels of your design with the map editor. However, four player local co-op is also support through the title's "campaign." I put that in quotes as the 100 levels of the campaign are more akin to challenges than any kind of story-based affair.Tankr will launch on Steam on June 6 and supports four player co-op, using a mix of gamepads and the keyboard/mouse, for the game's Campaign Mode.

Puzzle Platformer Shift Happens Headed to Xbox One

about X hours ago from

Klonk Games' charming, cooperative puzzle-platformer, Shift Happens, has been in Steam Early Access since September of last year. Not only will the title get a final release in July, it will also be arriving on the Xbox One.Most of the puzzles in Shift Happens revolve around you and your co-op partner shifting your sizes back and forth. It's an idea that appears to be similar to how Shiftlings operated, with the alien janitors in space suits that inflated and deflated being swapped out for sentient blobs. That's totally fine as far as I'm concerned as I feel you can never have too many co-op puzzle games.Shift Happens is slated for an early July 2016 release on the PC and Xbox One. It supports two players locally or online throughout the entirety of the title's campaign.
