Steam Code Giveaway - Guardians of Orion and ORION: Prelude

about X hours ago from

ORION: Prelude was released back in 2012 to quite negative reviews. Over the years the developers continued to garner feedback and update the game, a process we documented in our Indie-Ana Co-Op with TREK Industries. Their next game, Guardians of Orion may be following a similar path. Since release it has transformed from a twin-stick shooter to a hybrid game where gamers can choose to play from any perspective. Both games are built around cooperative play. Both games are going to be free to play for a limited time on Steam. Prelude is available for free until the 20th of March and Guardians of Orion will be free to play for the week of March 20th through the 27th. Today though we're giving away copies of both games to permanently add to your Steam library - in fact in total we have almost 50 keys to give out! ($1 Version) ORION: Prelude

Death Squared Co-Op Review

Death Squared Co-Op Review

Death Squared is a charming puzzle game for one to four players. The game is developed by SMG Studio, based out of Sydney, Australia who have a pedigree focused on tight indie experiences. Their games are charming and colorful, and Death Squared fits right in with their style.  The goal of the game is simple: navigate a robot cube through a test chamber to its matching circle color on the other side. Sounds pretty easy.

Flying Oak Games twin-stick-shooter-RPG-room-exploring-game NeuroVoider will be releasing to Ps4 and Xbox One, come March 14th and March 17th, respectively. The game was released for PC but has since made its way to consoles, still maintaining the co-op and simple RPG features that made the game so solid to begin with. When we reviewed NeuroVoider on PC, John Bardinelli said, "NeuroVoider is well-built and offers a lot of challenge. The mix of shooter and RPG balances instant gratification with long term goals, giving you plenty of excuses to play just one more level, especially when you've got a couple of friends in on the action."The announcement trailer can be seen below, as well as on the Playstation EU YouTube.

Interview with LucidSound (PAX East 2017)

about X hours ago from

Last Saturday at PAX East 2017, I had the pleasure of interviewing Alex Verrey, the Director and PR head at LucidSound. We talked about the history and future of the company as well as the different types of headsets it offers gamers.LucidSound is a fairly new name in the headset business (debuting only around a year ago), but it was entirely founded by and is staffed with audio industry veterans, coming from other companies, such as TRITTON. LucidSound was founded for the purpose of creating beautiful, high-quality gaming headsets. Their first model was the LS30 ($149.99), which Alex described as a “do-it-all, everyday headset.” Unlike many gaming headsets currently out on the market, the LS30 is completely wireless with 15 hours of wireless time between charges. Instead of using Bluetooth, which Alex told me created unacceptable lag, the LS30 uses 2.4GHz wireless technology, which allows for uncompressed audio and a better gaming experience. The battery recharges via a micro USB cable that simply plugs into your computer to become a functional wired headset while charging.

Mass Effect: Andromeda Co-Op Detailed in Latest Walkthrough

about X hours ago from

Mass Effect: Andromeda's four player co-op mode has been detailed (finally) in the latest official video from the Andromeda team at EA. By all accounts it looks very very similar to the co-op mode from Mass Effect 3, which of course, isn't a bad thing. The four player online co-op mode is completely separate and optional from the single player campaign. Players will choose a character, a loadout, and some items to bring into each mission as you take on successive waves of enemies, complete objectives, and eventually escape the map. There will be five multiplayer maps at launch:

A New Dauntless Trailer Has Emerged From PAX East

about X hours ago from

A blurry figure seems to emerge from Boston's ever-present snow flurries.  It looks haggard, as though the bitter cold has breached the confines of its very soul.  It stumbles toward you, and its outline begins to give way to detail.  It raises its head, and in its face, you slowly recognize the features of your OWN FATH- wait.  Never mind, it's just a new trailer for Dauntless. This four player online co-op RPG is the result of ex-Bioware, Riot, Capcom, and Blizzard developers coming together and saying, "You know what?  There just aren't enough games out there for people who want nothing more than to stick it to exorbitantly large monsters."  It was first revealed in December of last year, and naturally, the crew at Phoenix Labs decided to show off a little more of their game at PAX East. It's got plenty of Monster Hunter vibes, naturally, but it looks like the focus will be less on preparation and more on the act of hunting (and subsequently killing) the Behemoths.
