Modders Are Already Giving The Dragon Ball FighterZ Roster New Looks

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a fantastic fighting game in many ways, but one area it's sorely lacking is color options. Although you can choose between Yellow and Blue-haired Gokus, the color options for characters are limited to palette swaps. Of course, for modders and players of the PC version, that's already changed.

Modders like Mastaklo, Sonicbrawler, and more have taken upon themselves to do some model swapping and let players act out more specific Dragon Ball fighting fantasies. Saiyan Saga Vegeta and Goku, Baby Vegeta, Ultimate Teen Gohan (who I absolutely need to point out is not canon) are all available for PC players to use. You can take a look at some videos of the most popular mods below, and find links for the mods in their descriptions. Though most of these are recolors, a few involve some model swapping (and, in the cast of Baby Vegeta, importing models from other games), which makes them pretty cool to see.

Pokémon Go Players Can Now Purchase New Outfits By Earning Medals

Pokémon Go is adding a trio of new outfits players can buy, but these have a new twist: You have to earn them first.

The new Jogger, Battle Girl, and Fisherman outfits require players to earn their corresponding medals in-game. For Jogger items, players need to travel 10, 100, and 1,000 kilometers to earn three different rewards; for the Battle Girl set, players must win 10, 100, and 100 gym battles; for the Fisherman set, players must catch catch 3, 50, and 300 big Magikarp (indicated by the "XL" on the Magikarp's information screen).

After they've met those requirements, players will still have to pay for the items with in-game currency which can be purchased with real money.

What To Watch This Weekend: Dota 2, Dragon Ball FighterZ, And Marvel Vs. Capcom 2

What To Watch This Weekend: Dota 2, Dragon Ball FighterZ, And Marvel Vs. Capcom 2

This week is the Super Bowl and people will be watching a lot of that! Meanwhile, several esports are trucking along, offering something for everyone not interested in seeing the Patriots beat the Eagles (this is my guess I made to seem like I knew anything about football. Please don't be mad at my guess).

Dota 2 has a new regular update schedule, but the other big news for the game this week is the Starladder I-League Invitational, which features the game's biggest teams making the rounds to show off who's the best. (Stream / Schedule)

Of course, League of Legends still has its LCS going on, and will for several more weeks before heading into the playoffs. (StreamSchedule)

Reader Discussion – What Is Your Dream License For A Fighting Game?

With Dragon Ball FighterZ releasing last week and Dissidia Final Fantasy out this week, it's been a fairly big week for licensed fighting games. Both licenses have a decent bit of experience in this arena, but fulfill some dreams for fans of those series who want something really good or specific.

There are a lot of licenses that would be well-suited for fighting games but haven't been given the chance due to audience concerns, budget reasons, license holders, etc. Heck, there's probably a lot that aren't well-suited for fighting games but you'd love to see them as fighters, anyway.

For me, I would love a really widespread Indie fighting game. The house from Gone Home as a stage, Red from Transistor as a character, items from Battle Chef Brigade, etc. I also think a Dark Souls fighting game would be fantastic.

A Japanese comic, or manga, adaptation of the 1985 mainstream classic, Back to the Future, has been announced, from popular manga artist Yuusuke Murata.

The announcement was made at an event for the movie Ready Player One held in Tokyo on Thursday. Murata, who is likely best known as the artist for the football manga Eyeshield 21 and One-Punch Man, has been teasing the comic for several years but has finally made it official.

The manga will be overseen by Bob Gale, who wrote all three movies alongside director Robert Zemeckis. It will initially be serialized online, with the first physical volume going on sale in Japan on April 20. It is unknown if or when the manga will be available in English.

Marvel Reveals First Hints At Avengers Game Concept With Crystal Dynamics

Square-Enix and Marvel have been fairly quiet since announcing their partnership for an Avengers video game, but it seems the team has been assembled to get the game going.

In a news post on the Marvel blog, the Disney-owned comics giant outlined some of the talent brought to Crystal Dynamics to work on the new game.

"This time, the heroes are assembling again behind-the-scenes with award-winning developer Crystal Dynamics adding 15 top industry talent to The Avengers project in January alone," the post reads. "The talent includes Shaun Escayg, former Naughty Dog creative director, and Stephen Barry, a 27 year games vet from EA and Visceral Games."
