With Peter Capaldi as the twelfth Doctor Who, the long-running British sci-fi series has never been hotter in the U.S., recently setting a new high ratings mark for BBC America. Now, the good Doctor is coming to the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft.
Microsoft has announced that a new Doctor Who character pack for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition will be on sale starting in September. It will include the new Doctor as well as five other past Doctors - and the infamous Daleks.
The character pack will sell for $2.99.

Good Old Games has made its name selling back catalog titles from the golden age of PC gaming. Now, the company is expanding into cinema with a slew of documentaries aimed at the gaming audience.
The company hopes to eventually expand to more mainstream Hollywood fare, but is intent on selling its movies free of DRM - a sticking point with some major studios, according to to its North American head Guillaume Rambourg.
For now, there are 21 documentaries available for purchase at $5.99 each and, as mentioned, without DRM. The films are clearly centered around video games and the cultures that surround and intersect with them. Some of the available titles include Indie Game: The Movie Special Edition, Once Upon Atari, Playing Columbine, and Minecraft: The Story of Mojang - Deluxe Edition.

Starting September 2, a new collection of PlayStation 4, 3, and Vita titles will be made free for Plus members, and two of them are are brand-new releases.
You can see the full list of free titles below. Velocity 2X (the sequel to Velocity Ultra) on PlayStation 4 and Joe Danger for Vita are brand-new releases that launch on September 2.

GameInformer News Microsoft has said that it plans to sell the Kinect by itself this fall, and a new report claims this will happen in October.
Website WP Central says that the peripheral will go on sale "on or around" October 16 for $149 in the U.S. first.
In July, a listing appeared on the Microsoft online store for a standalone Kinect 2.0 for PC for $199, but Microsoft has not announced when the peripheral will be sold separately for the Xbox One.

PkayStation classics Mega Man X4 and X5 are coming to the PlayStation Network for play on PlayStation 3 and Vita very soon.
Mega Man X4 launches (or re-launches technically) on Tuesday September 2, while Mega Man X5 will be available on Tuesday the following week, September 9.
With the launch of Mega Man X3 on Wii U just around the corner, pretty soon you will be able to play your way through the first five Mega Man X games on modern systems.

The Call of Duty Endowment and Microsoft have teemed up to create a special Labor Day George Washington theme whose proceeds will go veterans in need.
The theme, seen above available on Xbox 360, is designed by by artist Jason Heuser and is available to purchase here. You can download the theme with either a $1, $5, $10, or $20 purchase/donation. The proceeds benefit the Call of Duty endowment, which donates money to a number of non-profit organizations that specialize in connecting military veterans with high-value career opportunities.

Attendees to PAX Prime 2014 will have the opportunity to check out Harmonix’s Fantasia: Music Evolved, play a couple new songs, receive exclusive swag, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the game's production.
A lot of gaming will happening in Washington State Convention Center, but gamers who migrate over to the Portland and Discovery rooms in the nearby Grand Hyatt will have the opportunity to get their hands on Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved and play through a couple new worlds and music sequences. Giveaways include collectible buttons and a T-shirt featuring award-winning, original artwork. Fans will also be able to sign up for a chance to win a custom Xbox One.
Also during the show, Harmonix will be hosting the panel “Music Evolved – From 8 Bit Soundtrack to Gameplay” Panel on Saturday, August 30 at 12:00pm in the Hedgehog Theatre where Award-winning Composer, Inon Zur, Recording Producer and Engineer Eddie Kramer, Host/Producer of “Classical MPR” Emily Reese discuss the process behind putting music in the game. The game’s full soundtrack will be also be announced during this panel.

Sega is bringing it’s fall lineup to PAX Prime, so showgoers can get their hands on this year’s upcoming titles, including Alien: Isolation, Sonic Boom, and more.
Those headed to PAX Prime in Seattle will be able to check out Sega’s upcoming slate, which includes: Alien: Isolation, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd. Sega will decorate Booth #232 with a custom-designed, giant-sized Alien egg pod, which sounds like it’s worth seeing as much as the game.
