Metal Gear Solid 4 Gets Digital Release On PS3

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain comes out next year, and what better way to catch up with the series than playing MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots on the PS3. Today Konami has announced that MGS 4 will be available digitally for the first time on the PS3 via PSN.

The game will be released on PSN on December 16 for $19.99. The game will not come with Metal Gear Online like the original release, as the title was shut down in 2012.

Our TakeI loved this game when it came out, and I bet it still stands up today. It's too bad this digital version doesn't bundle in the MGS 4 Database, which is a valuable lore resource. You can still download it at no charge from PSN, however.

LittleBigPlanet 3 Latest To Suffer Significant Launch Problems

It seems that Sony has another title filled with problems on its hands. After the disastrous launch of Driveclub (a game that is still not functioning at 100 percent), Sony has issued another title that doesn’t fulfill promises.

According to numerous users, LittleBigPlanet 3 (released on November 18) is also experiencing a variety of issues on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Players describe crashing, progress-impeding bugs, and profile corruptions.

Developer Sumo Digital and Sony have acknowledged some of these issues. Some DLC from previous series entries that should be forward-compatible is not importing to the new title. Sounds Objects for level creation are missing, a bug prevents moving past the prologue, and the “Popit” (a creation and gameplay tool) is hindered drastically if you have a number of screenshots on your console.

These Slick Skyrim Screens Look Like Gorgeous Oil Paintings

about X hours ago from

Skyrim is already a great-looking game, and a dedicated modding community has managed to make the vibrant fantasy world look even better. Now a crop of altered screenshots for the game show off what the game would look like imagined as a lush oil painting.

The beautiful gallery of screens appeared in a Reddit post, with users suggesting that they're the product of image-altering software rather than a oil painting aesthetic mod. However, you can find some oil painting mods linked in the Reddit post comments available even if they don't produce quite the same result.

Reader Discussion: Do You Like Video Game Leaks?

about X hours ago from

Earlier today information on an unannounced Assassin's Creed game leaked online. There's a bevvy of information available on Assassin's Creed: Victory, including screenshots showing off the new England setting and a new grappling hook tool. Our question is whether or not you enjoy leaks like these or prefer the reveal to be handled more traditionally?

Ubisoft responded to the leak with disappointment, saying that the company would have preferred to pull back the curtain its own way and that the leaked assets are not representative of the project in progress.

How do you react to information leaks like this? Are you excited to learn any shred of information on a big franchise, or as a fan would you prefer that your favorite publishers show off their hard work how they prefer?
