Loot Crate’s Special Edition Mass Effect Crate Goes On Sale Soon For $75

Now that Loot Crate has completed sales of its Fallout 4 crate, it’s time to turn attention to Mass Effect. The company has revealed more details about its special edition crate, including the price.

Loot Crate has priced the special edition bundle at $75. Some of the items (reportedly valued at a total of more than $150) in the crate are entirely exclusive, and the offering includes clothing (including, we assume, the N7 hoodie pictured above).

Sales timing will likely be on or near BioWare’s annual Mass Effect celebration on November 7 (N7 Day). We’ll update once we know more. Stay tuned to the official sales page. You do not need to be a subscriber to purchase the special edition crates.

Conan O’Brien And Marshawn Lynch Walk Fans Through Call Of Duty: Black Ops III

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch and Conan O’Brien have reunited after their hilarious pre-Super Bowl meetup in Janaury. This time, Lynch is giving Conan the guided tour of Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

The NFL star has a role in the upcoming game as one of the villains and appeared on the cover of ESPN Magazine earlier this year to promote the game. It is with no small amount of glee that he instructs Conan on the proper way to “blow s*** up.”

You’ll also see enemies forced to vomit. The weapons of the future are disgusting.

Watch This Destiny Player Finish Crota's End On Rock Band Drums

Who needs an astronomical light level when you’ve got the power of rock? YouTube user Sean Gallagher sure didn’t for his run on the Crota’s End raid in Destiny using only a Rock Band drum kit.

Gallagher makes ample use of the legendary handcannon Fatebringer and exotic Raze-Lighter sword in his fight against the Hive prince. What’s really impressive is how he uses both the Rock Band drum kit’s directional pad and four drum pads to fly across the battlefield, dodging swarms of enemies.

Perhaps the most entertaining portion comes a little over halfway in when Gallagher rapidly taps a drum pad to cut a powerful ogre down in two swings, exclaiming “Bro, this thing melts the ogre.” There’s also the obligatory drum solo after killing Crota. Does Bungie need a new weapon name? "Gallagher-horn" sounds appropriate.

In May, Nintendo pegged the number of anticipated releases at five through March 31, 2017. The first of these could arrive before the end of the calendar year.

Free November Rocket League Update Adds Mutators To The Mix

about X hours ago from

Psyonix is bringing a host of new Mutators to Rocket League next month in a free update. The download will allow players to tweak a variety of in-game parameters, including the size, shape and weight of the ball; gravitational effects; and more.

Want a cube-shaped ball? Have at it. Prefer a ball that dwarfs the cars? Knock yourself out. Maybe you'd like to play games that put respawns on a timer or have score caps. These are just a few of the things you can manipulate after the November update. A month later, a new free game variant is coming that's inspired by hockey. Take a look at that and the rest of the Mutators in the clip below.

Abandoned Video Games Get New Life Thanks To DRM Circumvention

about X hours ago from

The Library of Congress has issued exemptions to Section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Consequently, it will be slightly easier to legally circumvent aspects of DRM for lawful fair use such as the preservation of old video games.

The exemption lets players remove server authentication if the game's original server is shut down. An important caveat to this, however, is that this exemption only applies to games that cannot be played in any way after the server shut down – i.e., multiplayer-only games without an offline single-player component.

The exemption also states that libraries, museums, and archives can jailbreak consoles to play games with inactive servers.

Wii U And 3DS Sales Up, Profits Down In Nintendo's Second Quarter

Nintendo has reported its financial results for its second quarter of the fiscal year. The company is in the black, though income is sharply down for the quarter and trailing behind last year’s six-month performance.

Sales were up for the quarter 17 percent, reaching ¥113.96 billion ($945.86 million). Profits dropped by 86 percent for the three-month period to ¥3.17 billion ($26.32 million) and trail performance at the six-month mark by 19 percent.

Operating income dropped in the second quarter, but is tracking significantly ahead of last year for the six-month period. It was this quarter last year that Nintendo reversed course and pulled its operating income out of the red and into the black.
