GameInformer News While he may have only had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment in Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Activision made hay about Marshawn Lynch’s cameo. The Seattle Seahawks running back stole a bit of the spotlight on Super Bowl Sunday by hanging up his cleats and retiring.
It seems that developer Treyarch quietly added a tribute to Lynch in one of Black Ops III’s maps. You can find the nod to the football star all over the Combine map (as captured by YouTube user chaosxsilencer). The video shows what the map looked like before, evidencing the recent change.

GameInformer News Halo is more than just a successful video game franchise. The name encompasses a multimedia flurry of novels, live-action shows, and toys. 343 Industries plans to give collectors plenty more Halo replicas to fill their shelves by expanding its Halo toy line with Mattel.
After signing a master licensing agreement with 343 Industries, Mattel now has a higher variety of Halo products available to manufacture. Previously Mattel, only sold the Halo MEGA Bloks line of toys.
Now Mattel’s massive catalog includes weapon replicas, anatomically accurate 6” and 12” figures, radio controlled Warthogs, and even an energy sword. Don’t worry, it doesn’t look like the energy sword is made from the same properties as in the games.

GameInformer News One of the clever tricks of video game development is convincing our brains that scale and perspective match real-world equivalents. When we’re playing a first-person shooter, we imagine someone that looks and is proportioned like us. Sometimes we’re reminded that it just isn’t so.
You have seen this comic by John Kleckner that paints a humorous (and disturbing) picture of the monstrosities of FPS design we rarely see:
The truth isn’t terribly far off. Campo Santo artist Olly Moss shared clips of in-production Firewatch animation on Twitter that reveals Henry (the protagonist) to be a deformed, double-jointed freak.
