Last Call For Summer 2017 Game Informer Intern Applications

It's been a banner year for video games, but with the changing seasons comes a new opportunity for aspiring video games journalists. We're now accepting applications for Game Informer's summer 2017 internship term.

For details on Game Informer's three-month-long editorial internship click here. If that sounds exciting, you can send a cover letter, resume, and three writing samples (as a single pdf) to ben@gameinformer.com. The summer internship will run from May 17 through August 16. We'll continue to accept applications until April 5, so please send your application along before then!

Release Date & New Trailer For The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Ep. 3

Telltale Games has announced the release date for Above the Law – the third episode of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier (the adventure series' third season) – as well as a new trailer that whose tension you can cut with a knife. Or a baseball bat.

The episode comes out March 28 on all platforms, and the trailer delves into the titular New Frontier, the raising stakes for our cast, and Clem at arguably her finest.

Grand Theft Auto Online Bonuses For This Week Include In-Game Sales, Double GTA$, And More

Grand Theft Auto Online's Special Vehicle Circuit launched last week with double GTA$ and Reputation Points for players of the new tracks, and Rockstar is extending the bonus an extra week, through Wednesday, March 29, with select Rockstar Verified Stunt Races also awarding extra goodies to players. Additionally, a suite of in-game items are on sale during this period; garage properties, select sports cars, and explosive items like grenades are all 25 percent off until March 29. Grand Theft Auto Online will see a spate of new features throughout the summer, including the Gunrunning update and new adversarial modes like Top Down and Resurrection.

Capcom Taking Steps To Improve Street Fighter V's Online

PC players will soon have the chance to try out a slew of improvements to Street Fighter V's online mode during a free trial week. Players new to the game and those who already own it on Steam will be able to participate from March 28 at 1 PM PST to April 3 at 12 PM PST.

All Street Fighter V characters will be unlocked during the free week, including the latest addition to the roster, Kolin. Enhancements to the game's Capcom Fighters Network (CFN) include faster loading times, improved matchmaking, and overall balance adjustments for season two.

New features will also make their way onto the online experience, such as the ability to friend and blacklist players as well as add them to favorites, an interactive timeline of friends' activities, a penalty system for players who "rage quit," and leaderboard filters that rank players by country or league.

Titanfall 2 Free DLC Update Remasters Colony Map

Respawn has announced that on March 30 all Titanfall 2 players can pick up the Colony Reborn DLC update for free, which contains a remaster of the map from the first game.

Along with the new map the update also includes the R-101 weapon, the brutal Curb Check execution, paid cosmetic content, and more.

To celebrate the DLC, Respawn is holding a free trial weekend starting March 30 through April 3. The trial features the full multiplayer and single-player's Training Gauntlet and The Beacon mission. After April 3 the multiplayer part of the trial will not be active, although the single-player portion can still be accessed for free "in perpetuity."

What games will or won't be at the E3 expo is an annual game-within-a-game itself, but Electronic Arts has gotten a little ahead of the guessing by announcing some of the titles that the company is featuring at its EA Play event being held June 10-12 before the E3 convention official opens June 13.

The new iterations of Star Wars Battlefront (2015's title is shown) and Need for Speed will be there, as will the latest slate of EA Sports titles – including the oft-delayed NBA Live 18. All of these games and more will be playable.

Both EA Play and E3 are open to the public. Tickets to EA Play go on sale on April 20, with more details coming later.

Microsoft has announced April's Games with Gold which paid subscribers can enjoy on Xbox One and Xbox 360 for free.

Ryse: Son of Rome (Xbox One) is available April 1-30 (shown, above), while The Walking Dead: Season 2 (Xbox One) goes from April 16-May 15. Meanwhile on both the Xbox One (via backwards compatibility) and Xbox 360, Gold members can get Darksiders April 1-15 and Assassin's Creed Revelations April 16-30.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Update Addresses Disconnects, Vehicle Spawns, Radio

The second Ghost Recon Wildlands update is going live on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today, addressing a variety of stability and quality-of-life issues with the game. The update was released on PC yesterday.

Highlights include addressing multiplayer disconnects, fixing a variety of pathfinding issues with several missions, and allowing players to choose what vehicle spawns when players use the "drop vehicle" skill. Players who enjoy silence can now have vehicle radios turned off by default.

Rumor: Destiny 2 Out In September According To Retail Poster

Last month, during an earnings call, Activision announced that Destiny 2 was due sometime this fall. An apparent leak online of an Italian promo poster may have just outed a more specific release date for the game – September 8.

Another tidbit from the Italian GameStop promo poster is that a beta is scheduled for sometime this summer. [Full Disclosure: Game Informer is owned by GameStop] Eurogamer reports that the PS4 gets beta access before other platforms and that the beta happens in June.

We have contacted Activision about this rumor, and will update this story if we hear back.

Seemingly out of nowhere, PlayStation VR got a Ghostbusters game yesterday. The game is titled Ghostbusters is Hiring: Firehouse. In it, you explore the iconic Ghostbusters firehouse as you head in for a job interview.
